Position Title: Nashville, TN Market Manager
Company: Happenstance Distilling Company
Location: Nashville, TN (Candidates must be based in Nashville, or within 90 miles of the Nashville market or be willing to relocate.)
Position Type: Full-time, employee role with medical benefits, paid PTO, and remote work flexibility
Compensation: Base salary plus bonus opportunities. Negotiable based on experience.

Position Summary: As the Nashville, TN Market Manager, you’ll be responsible for forging strong partnerships between our brand and local on and off-premise retailers, as well as managing the relationship with our distribution partner. You will serve as the main point of contact for our company, promoting our products and driving sales in Nashville and surrounding markets. 

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of representing spirits brands in an existing portfolio in Tennessee. Must have exceptional sales and relationship-building skills, organizational and multitasking skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify opportunities for brand expansion and growth. 
  • Business Development: Build and maintain relationships with retailers, distributors, and other potential partners to increase brand presence and drive sales. 
  • Maintain key account list to grow brand opportunities in on and off-premise channels. 
  • Contact key decision makers to sell-in to new accounts and expand opportunities for placements in existing accounts.
  • Sales Strategies. Develop and execute sales strategies to increase market share and achieve sales targets.
  • Work with marketing team to promote events and highlight account relationships.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to retailers and distributors on product features, benefits, and selling techniques.
  • Brand Awareness: Coordinate and execute promotional events and tastings to drive brand awareness.
  • Coordinate POS material distribution and management in the trade
  • Conduct distributor sales meetings and ride-withs.
  • Reporting: Regularly report on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities to the management team.
Qualifications:
  • Proven track record in sales and business development in the alcohol industry, preferably with a spirits brand, minimum 2 years of experience required.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a drive to exceed targets and deliver exceptional results.
  • Knowledge of the Tennessee market and key players in the alcohol industry. 
  • Must have ability to travel as needed to establish and growth the brand and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required by the role.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or similar preferred.
