JOB DESCRIPTION: Belgian Boys is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Sales, West to lead our sales efforts and drive growth across key retailers in the Western United States. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record in sales leadership, excelling in internal collaboration and building strong relationships with key retail partners. With strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions, this role will spearhead initiatives to expand our market presence and elevate our brand. This position is pivotal in shaping our sales strategy, nurturing customer relationships, and achieving ambitious revenue goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Sales Strategy and Execution
    • Lead and implement the retail sales strategy for the West regional accounts.
    • Build and execute distribution targets, promotion plans, and sales presentations, leveraging data to drive growth.
    • Manage customer sales forecasts, profitability, and trade spend while ensuring alignment with overall company strategy.
  • Customer and Relationship Management
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with West grocery customers, brokers, and distributors.
    • Oversee distributor relationships and inventory management, including promotional plans and SKU performance.
    • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners, ensuring timely and accurate updates.
  • Broker Management
    • Oversee and manage broker relationships, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
    • Monitor and evaluate broker performance against established KPIs, driving accountability and ensuring successful execution of sales strategies across all channels
  • New Business Development
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive growth and expand the client base. 
    • Develop and implement strategies that open new markets and channels, contributing to the overall growth objectives of Belgian Boys.
  • Operations and Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Prepare and track sales forecasts, ensuring alignment with budget and customer requirements.
    • Collaborate with marketing, product development, and finance to align sales efforts with company initiatives and maintain brand integrity. 
  • Financial Management
    • Manage monthly budget reconciliation, trade budgets, and cost negotiations at the retailer level.
    • Conduct ROI analysis to ensure the financial viability of sales initiatives and campaigns.
  • Market Engagement
    • Attend trade shows and conduct market visits to build relationships and represent Belgian Boys.

  • Effectively manages multiple projects, with strong business acumen and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in data analysis, strategic planning, and fact-based selling to drive category and brand performance.
  • Solid understanding of trade math and financial management.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to bring structure to ambiguity and adapt to evolving strategies.
  • A proactive self-starter who identifies and solves problems efficiently.
  • Demonstrates resilience under pressure, maintaining a positive attitude and motivation in a startup environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging diverse audiences, including senior management.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with stakeholders, fostering collaboration and transparency.
  • Engages actively in market activities, including customer meetings and trade shows, while taking ownership of performance and outcomes.
  • Passionate about consumer trends and delivering fun, innovative solutions in the Refrigerated Breakfast category.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required
  • 7+ years of CPG experience (small and large size companies), with an emphasis on Sales, Category Management and Insights, Trade Planning and/or Revenue Growth Management
  • Retailer-facing experience required
  • Well versed in syndicated/POS data skills in Nielsen, SPINS, Numerator, 84.51, Shopper 360 and other syndicated and retailer portal data sources
  • Expert in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to combine art and science into compelling storytelling
  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence decision-making externally and internally across cross-functional teams.
