This Brand Ambassador role will be essential in growing Pernod Ricard USA’s (PRUSA) Irish Whiskey brands and continuing PRUSA’s presence as an industry leader. In this role, you will serve as the product and category expert in Irish Whiskey, leading educational efforts, building partnerships with industry influencers and emerging talent, and leveraging existing relationships to drive awareness, loyalty, and conversion. You will be vital in the progression of this portfolio, providing key inputs on how to deliver PRUSA Irish Whiskey’s vision within a designated geography.

  • Primary Brand: Jameson Irish Whiskey
  • Secondary Brands: Redbreast, Midleton and Spot Whiskeys
  • Channels: On-premise independent and national accounts, off-premise chains, trade groups and events
  • Residence: Applicants must reside in Denver, Los Angeles, or the Northern California region to qualify.
This Brand Ambassador, Irish Whiskey role will be employed by Sidecar Drinks but will represent Pernod Ricard externally.  This role will report to Sidecar’s Trade Advocacy Director.

We are Sidecar, a full-service, independent, award-winning creative agency dedicated to the drinks industry. 

As the drinks-savvy creative agency, Sidecar has a dedicated Trade Advocacy team that works closely with drink brands to recruit and train field team members nationwide. We oversee the growth of these programs, collaborating with the client team and drinks industry partners to increase brand awareness, win over trade, and increase the consumer base for their focus brands, pending brand objectives, goals, and KPIs.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Execute programming and meet KPIs based on brand and divisional priorities, focused on driving awareness, loyalty, and conversion across channels. KPIs include on/off trade education, trade events, and distributor engagement.
  • Be a leader within the local trade community by hosting innovative events and trainings, and providing on-the-ground engagement and advocacy. Develop strong relationships and cadence when activating with relevant local trade groups and thought leaders (i.e. USGB).
  • Prepare dynamic training sessions to further educate the Pernod Academy, distributors, and sales teams.  Enhance brand awareness and differentiation, drive brand initiatives, maintain commercial knowledge, and create a robust network within the market.
  • Execute weekly and monthly reporting, including expense reports, post-event recaps, account audits, and KPI tracking. Present competitive insights and trends to inform programming.
  • Build and grow social media presence and utilize social media platforms to support brand programming and showcase portfolio expertise.
  • Assist with drink strategy when needed.
  • Learn a lot. But also has a lot of fun. We work in drinks, after all!
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 4+ years of professional work experience required. Hospitality industry experience preferred with strong knowledge of the on-premise and bartender landscape.
  • 3-4+ years of US Spirits experience required  - Irish Whiskey experience is a plus!
  • An understanding of cultural nuances, trends, traditions, passion points, and preferences, particularly amongst Hispanic consumers a plus. 
  • Have an established trade network within the spirits industry.
  • Social media savvy with an active and strategic social media presence.
  • Strong team player with a proven track record of independently balancing multiple projects successfully.
  • Must have the ability to travel (60-70% travel required) and work flexible hours, especially evenings and weekends 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Reliable and punctual (no tolerance for “no call, no shows”).
  • A valid US driver’s license and a clean driving record with reliable transportation
Applicants must be 21+ and legally authorized to work in the United States.
This job has some physical requirements, including carrying and lifting boxes, reaching overhead, bending down, and frequent standing and walking. 

ANNUAL SALARY & COMPENSATION: 
  • $80,000-$90,000 (negotiable based on qualifications and experience)
  • Additional compensation: $300 monthly stipend for misc. job-related costs such as cell phone, home internet, car, and gas
