Fine Wine Sales Manager

M.S. Walker is a multi-generational family-owned and operated distributor of fine wine and spirits. As the Fine Wine Sales Manager (Boston/North Shore), you will be surrounded by people who love the world of fine wine. Your primary role will be the development and growth of all sales activities within your territory through your assigned team. Achievement in this role will reflect your ability to: manage different personalities, create relationships in the market, utilize all available resources, have a willingness to compete, constantly learn, and ultimately, find ways to win. The Fine Wine Sales Manager role requires a dynamic personality that can successfully navigate all that the wine business has to offer.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop a business plan and sales strategy that ensures achievement of company revenue and brand goals through profitability, visibility and ownership of the market.
  • Provide leadership, development, and direction to Sales Representatives; assist Sales Representatives in preparation of proposals and presentations.
  • Conduct one-on-one reviews with all Sales Representatives to build more effective communication, understand training and development needs, and provide insight for the improvement of rep's sales and activity performance.
  • Recruit and hire Sales Representatives based on criteria agreed upon by senior management.
  • Regularly visit clients and accounts within the designated territory.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of go-to-market plans as needed.
  • Provide timely feedback to senior management regarding performance.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics requirements and ensure that they are communicated and implemented within the team.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in sales management
  • Competitive, self-motivated, analytical, dynamic, and driven to achieve
  • Extensive experience managing different types of personalities
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics
  • Proven leadership ability
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Lives within the assigned team territory (Boston/North Shore)
