Payroll Manager
The Payroll Manager will lead a team responsible for overseeing companywide payroll operations, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of multi-state employees in compliance with relevant laws and company policies.
Ideal candidate would reside within striking distance of one of our major breweries: Fort Collins, CO, Kalamazoo, MI, or Asheville, NC.

Starting Salary Range: $80,000.00 - $115,000.00

Essential Duties:
- Manage and oversee payroll operations for a multi-state workforce, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Serve as contact for payroll-related inquiries from leadership, providing clear and timely resolution.
- Collaborate with leadership to align payroll strategies with the company's broader business goals and identify risks and opportunities to achieving those goals
- Oversee and partner in internal and external payroll audits designed to identify discrepancies and improve efficiency
- Decide on the best course of action to resolve payroll concerns, questions, and discrepancies; determine when issues arise that need escalation.
- Lead in the implementation and optimization of payroll systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Generate and review payroll reports to provide insights for financial planning, compliance, and leadership decision-making.
- Lead communication to coworkers involving payroll-related information, training, deadlines, or changes
- Collaborate and communicate with company leaders on consistent payroll practices and policy to ensure alignment with business objectives across sites
- Analyze payroll data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure that payroll practices and policy reflect the company's commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
- Lead and manage the team, providing guidance, mentorship, support, and direction while addressing challenges and promoting coworker well-being; Foster a supportive and inclusive team environment
- Drive social and environmental impact by identifying opportunities to minimize environmental impact, promote inclusion and belonging within the team and support community engagement opportunities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education/ Experience/Skills:
- 5+ years' payroll management experience in a multi-state environment; CPP certification a plus
- Previous experience with cloud-based payroll platform; Workday Payroll preferred
- Proven experience with payroll system implementation, preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Strong computer skills, MS Word, PowerPoint
- Proven advanced MS Excel skills, required
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills, written and verbal
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with employees at all levels.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and protect confidential information
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities
