Job Location: Hershey, PA

Job Type: Part-Time, Year-Round (Hours will fluctuate seasonally)

Pay Rate: $15.00 an hour or more based on your experience

Minimum Age: 18 years or older

Availability: Individuals who can work a flexible schedule up to 24 hours a week, that includes weekends, holidays, and closing and opening shifts (as early as 8:00 a.m. and as late as 12:00 midnight). Shift times will vary based on operating hours and business needs.

A Day in the Life
  • The Hershey's Pastry Cook will provide prompt and courteous service to Hershey's Chocolate World guests
  • Follows HACCP policies and procedures to ensure the safe production of all food items
  • Maintain the daily production of pastry items and desserts and coordinate needs of all Sweets locations (Bake Shoppe, Coffee Cocoa, and Ice Cream)
  • Employee will work with industrial kitchen equipment to produce pastry and dessert items
  • Complete daily check lists, properly rotate, label, and store prepped food items
  • Monitor hot and cold food holding temperatures and other required food safety duties
  • Decorate pastries, cakes, and gourmet chocolate treats
  • Meet all food safety and sanitation standards


What You'll Need
  • Candidates must possess (or be able to complete within 6 months) ServSafe Food Handler certification
  • Leadership skills in motivation and teamwork and ability to react quickly to special situations
  • Perform bakery and guest service skills typical of a kitchen environment (knife skills, following recipes, attention to detail, etc.)
  • Serve food and beverages according to standards for portion and presentation
  • Display pastry items and desserts according to standards
  • Accuracy in money handling, order taking, and execution of directions


Who We Are Looking For
  • Individuals with a high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Individuals with 2 years' experience in a bake shop, restaurant, or hotel pastry position


Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities :
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Must maintain a neat appearance and meet the uniform standards
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 25-50 pounds. Overhead lifting may be required
  • Must be able to walk or stand for 5-8 hours
  • Requires repetitive motion of the hands, wrists, and forearms
  • Requires bending, stooping, lifting, and twisting
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to perform basic math functions
  • Must be able to work at a fast pace and remain focused, accurate, and efficient
  • Ability to function effectively as part of a team
