Data Analyst – Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Data Analyst with advanced technical expertise in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Excel to support our data-driven decision-making processes. This role requires a deep understanding of the complexities within the Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) industry, ideally with experience in a regulated import/distribution environment. The successful candidate will have practical experience managing multiple SKUs across different sales channels, providing key insights into operational efficiency, sales trends, and financial performance. 

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Leverage QBO and advanced Excel skills to collect, process, and analyze large data sets. Create dynamic reports and dashboards to monitor sales trends, inventory levels, and financial performance. 
  • Inventory & SKU Management: Track and analyze inventory data across various sales channels and SKUs. Develop and maintain reports that support optimal stock levels, reduce waste, and align inventory management with demand planning. 
  • Sales Channel Insights: Monitor and assess performance across different sales channels, providing insights to improve sales strategies and optimize channel-specific results. 
  • Financial Analysis: Perform financial analysis, including cost analysis, profit margins, and budgeting support. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate data-driven insights with marketing, sales, and operation teams to support strategic initiatives and drive cross-functional improvements. 

Qualifications:
 
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Finance, or a related field. 
  • Technical Skills: 
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (e.g., advanced formulas, pivot tables, macros). 
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Online (QBO) with hands-on experience in data extraction and analysis. 
  • Industry Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in the CPG industry, preferably with exposure to import/distribution in a regulated industry such as food & beverage. 
  • Analytical Skills: Proven ability to analyze complex data sets and translate findings into actionable insights. 
  • Additional Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
