Lead Distiller
Location: Santa Fe, NM
Reports to: Vice President of Operations

Santa Fe Spirits is New Mexico’s premier distillery and has been producing award-winning spirits since 2010. Our portfolio includes Colkegan Single Malt, Wheeler’s Gin, Santa Fe Apple Brandy, Expedition Vodka, Santa Fe Atapino Liqueur.
Role
Our lead distiller contributes directly to achieving Santa Fe’s business goals by leading and working alongside our production team in producing and packaging spirits.
Qualifications & Experience
Requirements:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in distilling
- Experience in managing distillery staff, production planning, and facility management
- Ability to lift 50-75 pounds repeatedly and be on your feet most of the day
- Strong math skills, and verbal/written communication skills
- Must be able to use distillery software such as Whiskey Systems or Still House
- Strong organizational and planning skills with constant attention to detail
- Must be at least 21 years of age with a clean, valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
To be successful in this role you will:
· Consistently meet production schedule goals
· Need experience in all distilling and production activities
· The temperament to work well with a close-knit team
· Have the ability to troubleshoot problems
Responsibilities
· Daily production activities include mashing, fermentation, distillation, barreling, proofing, blending and bottling
· Exceeding distillery cleanliness and quality standards
· Regulatory compliance will require keeping daily logs of production activity and inventory
· Creating and adhering to production schedules
· Need experience in all distilling and production activities
· Ordering raw materials and supplies
· Troubleshooting equipment performance issues
