Job Summary:

The National Sales Manager is responsible for executing the company’s wine sales strategy across all U.S. markets. This role focuses on expanding market presence, managing key accounts, fostering distributor relationships and achieving sales targets in alignment with the company’s overall goals.
 
Supervisory Responsibilities:
·         None

Duties/Responsibilities:
·         Build and maintain a close working relationship with the top on-premise Peter Michael distributors and their accounts.  Ambassador for key accounts, distributors and consumers.
·         Execute and deliver specific quarterly objectives; effectively manage the relationship with the distributor and their progress towards meeting the stated goals (including analysis of depletions, inventory and pricing).
·         Represent the brand at industry events, trade shows, tastings and other promotional activities.
·         Identify new market opportunities and strategic partnerships to increase brand penetration.
·         Analyze market trends, competitor activity and sales performance data to optimize strategies.
·         Conduct market visits to evaluate distributor execution, provide training and build customer relationships

Required Skills/Abilities:
·         Strong understanding of the allocation sales model and the luxury wine market.
·         Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first approach.
·         Analytical skills to track and evaluate sales trends, inventory levels and customer behaviors.
·         Knowledge of high-end wine production and varietal characteristics with WSET or similar certification preferred.
·         This position requires a substantial amount of business travel.  Must possess the organizational skills and schedule flexibility to travel a minimum of 20 weeks.

Education and Experience:
·         Bachelor’s degree or a related field.
·         Significant high end/luxury wine sales and sales management experience 
·         Successful experience in supplier and distributor roles or a combination with on-premise account level buying experience preferred
 
Physical Requirements:
·         Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods during events or client interactions.
·         Ability to work in various conditions, including indoor and outdoor environments, and adjust to seasonal temperature changes.
·         Prolonged periods of sitting, standing or walking.
·         Occasional lifting or carrying of materials (up to 20-30 lbs) for event setups or presentations.
·         Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays for member events or client meetings, as required.
·         Ability to travel locally or regionally for off-site events and member engagements.
