Overview

The Senior IT Operations Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day responsibilities, including First and Second level support for OCC-IT Operations. Responsibilities include: monitoring systems for system health, monitoring the physical environment the systems are running in, monitoring the systems for threshold adherence, monitoring batch operations, executing tasks required for backup and recovery operations, documentation and escalation of issues to the appropriate support groups, executing processes necessary to produce required reports, including the creation of daily report. Create and update documentation as it relates to OCC_IT Operations. Maintain EOD Run books up-to-date.

Specialized Skills and Technologies

• Minimum 5 years experience in the AS400 operations field 
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) 
• Able to troubleshoot both AS400 Operational problems
• Available 24x7 – will do whatever it takes to get the job done
• Availability to cover 3rd, 2nd,  1st shift including weekends when required
• Team player 
• Verify Turnover between shifts are properly covered
• Daily communications and updates with all three Shifts 
• Dependable, self motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
• Thorough understanding of Backup and Recovery (BRMS) (will train)
• Knowledge of Robot product a plus (will train)
• Follow up on all special requests from sites (Refresh/Backups/etc.)
• Daily Interaction with the Midrange Systems group
• Be available to cover any Shift whenever required
• Publish daily activity and problem logs
• Support and be involve with the Critical Incident Management team activities

Physical Demands

• Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine
• Physical demands with activity or condition may include occasional to rare amount of time include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
• May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
