Overview

The Mailroom Clerk transmits communications by picking up, distributing, and dispatching mail; preparing bulk mailings; maintaining postage meter reserves and mailing equipment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Collect, distribute and sort incoming mail and process outgoing mail
• Determine, affix, and record postage on registered mail and packages
• Maintain volume and distribution log of mail for reporting purposes
• Keep mailroom equipment and supplies in good condition and report when something needs repair or replacement
• Maintain and stock office supply closets in office suites - including paper at copiers and toner distribution
• Pack and prepare packages for outgoing shipment
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of mailroom
• Set up special meetings and events when required
• Run special errands including deliveries and pick ups
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Additional Primary Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency plus one year of experience
• Must have valid driver's license
• Computer experience required for mailroom operations - calendar maintenance, general email notices, online mailing labels, etc.

Physical Demands

• Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or adding machine
• Physical demands with activity or condition may include walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping for long periods of time
• May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 56lbs
