General Description:
The Senior Director of Marketing will develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to build brand awareness, drive sales, and foster a strong company culture. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Senior Director will lead the marketing team and oversee the Culture Manager to ensure that all marketing and cultural initiatives align with the company’s vision and business objectives. This position offers a remote work environment, with monthly travel to NYC required for team collaboration, events, and market development.

Mission/Objectives:
The Senior Director of Marketing at Sake ONO aims to drive brand visibility, growth, and market leadership by developing and executing strategic marketing initiatives that align with the company’s vision. This role will focus on creating cohesive brand messaging, leading cross-functional collaboration, and fostering a culture of innovation. By leveraging expertise in the alcohol industry, digital marketing, brand planning, and D2C channels, the Senior Director of Marketing will work to elevate Sake ONO’s presence in retail and on-premise markets while inspiring and nurturing the marketing team to achieve business objectives and foster a positive company culture.

Key Responsibilities

1. Marketing Strategy and Execution
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy and annual brand plans to increase brand visibility, market share, and revenue growth.
  • Oversee marketing campaigns to reach target audiences effectively.
  • Collaborate with sales and other departments to ensure cohesive brand messaging and alignment across all marketing channels.
  • Manage relationships with external agencies, vendors, and partners to execute marketing campaigns effectively.
2. Brand Management
  • Establish and maintain a consistent brand image and positioning across all communication channels.
  • Oversee creative development, ensuring all marketing materials and campaigns align with brand values and resonate with target audiences.
  • Conduct market research to analyze current trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior to make informed strategic decisions.
3. Leadership and Team Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the marketing team, including the Culture Manager, to foster creativity, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Provide clear guidance, set performance goals, and conduct regular evaluations to ensure the team meets objectives.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and data-driven decision-making within the marketing department.
4. Collaboration and Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Work closely with the CEO to define business priorities and align marketing strategies accordingly.
  • Partner with sales, operations, and all other internal teams to drive effective go-to-market strategies.
  • Represent marketing in critical meetings, providing strategic insights and performance updates to senior leadership.
5. Metrics and Reporting
  • Set and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for all marketing initiatives.
  • Analyze campaign performance data to generate actionable insights, adjust strategies, and maximize ROI.
  • Present reports to the CEO and Board of Directors on the effectiveness of marketing activities and progress toward business goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in marketing leadership roles, with at least three years as a Director of Marketing within the alcohol industry, is required.
  • Proven experience developing and executing successful marketing strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing, brand management, market analysis, and growth campaigns.
  • Experience with social media strategy, brand planning, business development, strategy, and direct-to-consumer (D2C) marketing.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a marketing team.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Experience in overseeing culture initiatives and team engagement is a plus.
  • Required to travel monthly to NYC.
