Summary: Responsible for target brand and segment "street execution".  Develops and increases distribution of target brands.  Implements sales/merchandising programs for the target brands.  Works closely with supplier key contacts as well as the respective account base to develop market specific plans designed for the target brands and luxury segment. The individual will develop, maintain and expand market share by providing extensive customer service, including making sales presentations, coordinating promotions, seminars and conducting product tastings and staff training. Qualifications preferred minimum two years of sales experience with a minimum of one year in the wine and spirits beverage industry.  Must have strong wine knowledge and a wine and spirits certification.
 
 Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Represents the RNDC target product portfolio, wine and spirits, in key market points of interest. 
  • Oversees and assists in the execution of all  major programs and events within the respective market. 
  • Identifies and leads the continual development of key account opportunities through the introduction of new products, the execution of marketing activities, and an ongoing assessment of potential brand marketing opportunities. 
  • Increases business opportunities by developing and conducting professional presentations, staff training sessions, and product seminars. 
  • Develops and executes product specific promotions and merchandising in key accounts. 
  • Schedule and coordinate trade events, wine maker events, and meet & greet with RNDC management. 
  • Under administrative direction, recommends strategies, objectives, and plans for the company's sales and profit objectives specific to the target brands. 
  • Builds and maintains relationships with Key Accounts and throughout the luxury segment. 
  • Schedules account sales and service calls on a regular basis including survey and consumer assessments during account business hours. 
  • Gathers, submits, and communicates tracking reports on marketing activity, promotion/event details, sales, and competitive activity. 
  • Works closely with RNDC key contacts to ensure specialized product availability and delivery.

Education and / or Experience:  Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four year college or university (preferred); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Extensive wine knowledge required.  Wine and spirits certification.
 
Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, write simple correspondence, and to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Spanish bilingual abilities preferred. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
 
 Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts (such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume) and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions (in written, oral, or diagram form), and to deal with a variety of abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet, Microsoft Office Suite software (such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, and etc.), and order processing systems (such as Logility, Microstrategy, and etc.) or the aptitude to learn.  Microsoft PowerPoint Project Management software; Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word Processing software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Requires a current, valid state driver's license. 
  • Ability to meet vehicle insurance requirements as defined by the Company.
  • Alcohol Beverage Commission (ABC) License, as required by the state . 

Other Requirements: Ability to regularly operate a motor vehicle.
