Position Summary

The JP Wiser's Design roles are part of a newly created Design team within the JP Wiser's Brand Management team structure. The addition of the JP Wiser's Design team enables Corby to up-weight resources behind its flagship Brand, solidifying JP Wisers' status as a true Global player and enabling the brand to realize its Domestic & Export ambitions.

Reporting to the Sr. Brand Manager JP. Wiser's Design, the Brand Manager, JP Wiser's Design will support the overall strategy and participate in shaping Corby's flagship Brand, JP Wisers for long term and sustainable growth. He/She will demonstrate thought leadership by leveraging consumer insights to drive brand strategy, innovation and communications. This role is responsible for developing the Global Brand vision and inspiring commitment and alignment of the global network behind brand vision & crusade.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Architecture & Brand positioning

  • Work with Sr. Brand Manager to develop Long Range Portfolio Plan with key inputs from cross functional teams, consumer insights, agency partners, analysis of category/competitive and brand performance.
  • Present Portfolio architecture & Brand positioning to Corby Senior Management & relevant Global markets.
  • Work closely with JP Wiser's Delivery team to ensure strong execution of JP Wiser's in Canada.

  • Global Integrated Business Planning Lead

  • Key point of contact for Corby Export team on JP Wiser's, synthesizing complex data inputs into clear articulation of Portfolio Architecture, Brand story and innovation strategy.
  • Inspire Global markets by providing ongoing updates on strategy, innovation and assets through streamlined communication platform.

  • Product/Marketing Innovation

  • Plays a key role in innovation process from inception through to roll out, working collaboratively with Innovation and production team to develop liquid, packaging, CAPEX considerations and consumer testing.
  • Develop robust innovation pipeline with compelling concepts by engaging cross functional teams (including New-to-Market & production teams) and agency partners. Innovation pipeline must align with over-arching Portfolio architecture and Brand strategy.
  • Ensure rigor on feasibility of new products and have the ability to scale up and commercialize new products.
  • Identify key asset requirements for launch and work collaboratively with JP Wiser's Delivery team to develop strong launch plan (for Canada - Pilot market).
  • Post launch evaluation against set KPIs.
  • Ongoing value-engineering assessment to improve profitability.

  • Masterbrand assets

  • Liaise with Creative and packaging agencies ongoing, lead briefing process and ensure timely and cost-efficient ways of working.
  • Develop breakthrough creative and packaging designs; bold key visuals that are distinctive and drive long-term equity growth for the business.
  • Oversee development of suite of assets (above the line and below the line) and sell sheets to support Trade and Sales teams.

  • Budget Management

  • Owner of Non-working A&P dollars within JP Wiser's Brand team; Setting yearly budget, working with Delivery team to allocate budgets based on needs. Including strategy work, creative development, research, innovation development and VAPs.
  • Evaluation of marketing activities: Ensure all major brand initiatives (>$50,000) are formally evaluated, with summary conclusions and recommendations. Share the results of evaluation internally with key stakeholders and agree next steps.

  • Qualifications

  • Minimum 5years' experience in Brand Management in CPG arena.
  • University Degreein business related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Solid experience in brand positioning, market/consumer research and innovation.
  • Good strategic vision with ability to navigate uncertainty and complexity.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to work individually and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Curious, creative, bold and willing to take risks.
  • Language skills- French is an asset.
