About The Position
This position has a full salary range of $45,000- $60,000 per year with eligibility for a quarterly bonus. Starting salary is based on a variety of factors including but not limited to geographic location, experience and performance.

Summary:

The Category Account Manager will work in Natural Food and Specialty Retailers, including Whole Foods Market, representing a portfolio of Organic/Natural Food brands. The candidate hired for this role will develop relationships with Store Managers and Team Members, via daily store visits, to achieve performance objectives at assigned locations within a geographic area. The Category Account Manager will be an expert in their assigned categories, and will understand brand differentiators, market competition and price points. They will use this expert-level knowledge to grow the brands in their portfolio working closely with Merchandisers assigned to specific locations.

The Schedule:

  • This is a Monday – Friday position with shifts primarily in the morning.
  • The candidate hired for this role would be responsible for building and maintaining a consistent route of store visits within the San Francisco, CA area.

The Role:

Brand Growth:

  • Responsible for managing a category specific portfolio to ensure all brands in the portfolio are growing based on key metrics such as sales and distribution.
  • Responsible for executing on brand sales goals and objectives, self-appointed as well as set by our brand partners.
Category Expert:

  • Responsible for knowledgeably communicating the brand differentiators, market competition, and price points for portfolio categories.
  • Use category knowledge to support the growth of brands in the portfolio.
Communication/Relationship Building:

  • Responsible for establishing, growing, and maintaining relationships in all accounts with key decision makers at the store level.
  • In store communication should include product orders, upcoming promotional activity, new product SKUs for inclusion shelf, and opportunities to expand current product or brand selection.
  • Responsible for clear and effective communication to management, other members of the team, and brand management.
  • Responsible for effective email, text, call, and in-person communication with in-store key decision makers.
Reporting:

  • Report on in-store actions and metrics via mobile app.
  • Provide real-time information to team and leadership in order to troubleshoot or communicate a brand’s status.
  • Understand and utilize metrics to determine priorities for store visits.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Experience in Sales, Retail, Merchandising, and/or Natural Food Industry is a plus.
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of current auto insurance and be able to drive a car for extended periods of time.
  • Must be willing to drive for daily local travel – approximately 5,000 miles or more per year.
  • Capable of meeting the physical requirements of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation, including but not limited to: standing for up to 8 hours, bending, squatting, reaching, repetitive motion, pushing and pulling, twisting, and lifting 40-50lbs.
  • Willing and able to work in cold environmental conditions (i.e refrigerated and freezer sections of retail stores).
  • Must have a functioning smartphone.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
