Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits is seeking a Direct-to-Consumer Associate to join a growing direct-to-consumer business channel. We are looking for a very entrepreneurial, motivated professional who is passionate about wine, system and process optimization, and exceptional customer service.

Desired location for role is in the Greater San Francisco Bay Area, with the ability to attend in-person meetings work at some industry and consumer events in Napa and Sonoma Counties.

In this role, you will be responsible for operational execution, administrative management, and consumer care for a DTC team working across three high-profile wine brands. The DTC channel at DFWS is digitally focused and scaling fast. Significant growth in recent years has our brands well-positioned for continued success as they continue to be leaders in their categories.

The ideal candidate for this role possesses operational expertise in the direct-to-consumer wine channel, familiarity with industry-specific technology platforms and digital tools (or willingness and ability to learn), and an appetite for building efficient and scalable processes to help our DTC channel continue its rapid growth trajectory.

What Will You Do?
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams and external vendors to ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of the DTC business. Coordinate across DTC, Supply Chain, IT, Brand Marketing, Compliance, Legal, Finance, fulfillment vendors, platform developers, agency partners, and more.
  • Fulfillment: Lead the relationship with our DTC fulfillment partner and facilitate product inventory movement with internal Supply Chain team, maintain supply levels for DTC business channel based upon forecasted volumes, regularly analyze inventory at fulfillment warehouse for cost saving and efficiency opportunities, and ensure smooth setup of product listings and wine club shipment planning.
  • E-commerce: Maintain and support ecommerce and CRM platform (Commerce7), including but not limited to product listings and updates, corporate and bulk orders, consumer order submission and re-ship processing, customer account management, and wine club management.
  • Wine Club: facilitate shipment schedules and release timing for seasonal traditional wine clubs and monthly subscription clubs, lead new product setup and website updates by digital agency partner, process and ensure shipment of all wine club orders, provide best-in-class customer service to wine club members while addressing questions, needs, and concerns.
  • Compliance: Collaborate with internal compliance team to ensure DTC shipping and regulation compliance is maintained and shipping licenses are kept current and updated with appropriate partners
  • Consumer Care: Provide excellent customer service via e-mail and phone, collaborate with internal teams and external partners to answer consumer questions and resolve any issues, ensuring an exceptional consumer experience at every point in the buying journey
  • Reporting and Analysis: Maintain expertise in all platform-provided data in order to facilitate reporting and analysis for various internal teams, including Finance & Accounting, Brand Marketing, Supply Chain, and more.
  • Additional responsibilities and tasks as needed.


Who Are You?
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the wine industry, working in a direct-to-consumer environment, with some consumer-facing experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Strong experience and familiarity with business operations and administrative responsibilities; ideally some experience with industry-specific ecommerce and CRM platforms, digital customer support tools, and common productivity tools like Excel
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a timely and professional manner, capability, and comfort with working both autonomously and collaboratively across teams and brands
  • Experience with Commerce7, ShipCompliant, and fulfillment vendor platforms are preferred, but not required
  • Ability to provide top quality customer service and ensure best-in-class consumer experiences via email, phone, and digital consumer care platform
  • Strong knowledge and familiarity with wine - industry certifications or credentials preferred (i.e., WSET)
  • Knowledge of state wine shipping laws and DTC compliance preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Courteous and professional telephone manner
  • A bility to problem-solve and achieve efficient and impactful solutions to daily challenges
  • Proficient writing and communication skills with a polished, professional presentation
