About The Position

Baron Francois Ltd is a family-owned wine and spirits importer and distributor located in the Financial District of Manhattan and distributing wines and spirits since 1982, Baron Francois sells 1 million bottles per year to restaurants, bars, hotels, liquor stores, and wine retailers. We partner with 100 unique suppliers to bring artisanal wines and spirits to New York and surrounding states, including New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Currently, our sales are equally split between off and on trade accounts, all of which is overseen by our growing team of 25 employees. Almost 100% of the wines in Baron Francois’ extensive portfolio are from family-owned single vineyards with whom the company maintains faithful relations vintage after vintage. Baron Francois’ tasting committee is very strict in order to ensure the best value to our customers and final consumers. We have the objective to select elegant and well-balanced wines from producers who embody their “terroir.”

Baron Francois is also devoted to assist its customers in their retailing activities with a policy of high quality service and a neighborly attitude of long term partnerships. In recent years, Baron Francois extended its range of products to the rest of the world to offer a more complete book with no compromise of quality. We are looking for full time Wine and Spirits Consultants to offer our line of quality small-estate wines and spirits to restaurants and retail in Washington DC.
The ideal candidate will be organized and focused with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Resiliency, persistence and tenacity will be the key of success. 
This position requires the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: 
-A minimum of two years’ experience selling fine wines and craft spirits in a wholesale/distributor setting 
-Advanced knowledge of wine and spirits 
-Excellent networking and interpersonal skills
-Knowledge of the DC/VA market 
-Flexible schedule for meetings with clients, travel, trade events, and in-store tastings 
-Must be able to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 40 pounds 
-Must be able to obtain and maintain a Washington DC Solicitor’s Permit 
This position is full time with a competitive base salary, commissions, travel & expenses, annual bonus, wine & spirits education, health/dental/vision insurance, 401k plan and paid vacation.
