About The Position

QA Tech:
Responsible for monitoring and ensuring the highest level of quality assurance, food safety protocols. Maintains programs to promote quality consciousness among all employees.Responsible for monitoring and ensuring the highest level of quality assurance, food safety protocols. Job Functions
  • Maintain QA programs and food safety practices to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Monitor and enforce Food Safety, Sanitation and Allergen programs
  • Participate in plant training and auditing
  • Monitor, collect and maintain retention sample program
  • Able to consume confectionery treats containing: wheat, soy milk, egg, peanuts, and tree nuts including other ingredients for organoleptic testing program
  • Assure products manufactured meet internal and external specifications
  • Swab and collect samples for microbiological testing programs
  • Perform product holds in a timely manner
  • Able to complete assignments or other duties as required by QA Manager
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly enter data into to computer
  • Regularly required to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time
  • Regularly required to communicate verbally and hear
  • Regularly proofreads and verifies production documentation
  • Occasionally required to climb a ladder
  • Occasionally sits for extended periods of time
  • Occasionally required to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally works in an area with loud machinery and temperature variations
  • Able to work 10 hour shifts, occasional weekends and mandatory overtime
 
Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of experience in QA/QC for a food manufacturer
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Understanding of Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA)
  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ year manufacturing experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Knowledge of AIB, SQF, BRC, cGMP, HACCP, allergen program or sanitation programs
  • ATP or environmental swabbing experience
