Position Summary: The Senior Manager, Portfolio Insights & Strategy is a leader responsible for transversal cross-portfolio capabilities and insights activation at Pernod Ricard USA. The Senior Manager will focus on (1) building insights playbooks and strategic partnerships, (2) leading foundational learning and foresight for strategic topics, and (3) wiring ways of working to ensure insights are activated to drive growth. This person will proactively identify capabilities and knowledge gaps, identify creative solutions and optimization opportunities, and will drive learnings to action with portfolio growth partners.

The successful candidate for this role will:

  • Have significant experience building and optimizing insights frameworks, methods, and playbooks
  • Be a champion for identifying metrics that matter, and building pathways from KPIs to decisions
  • Be passionate about experimentation, behavioral science, foresight, and continuous improvement
  • Know how to prioritize knowledge gaps and activate foundational insights with broad stakeholders
  • Have strong experience wiring insights playbooks and deliverables into plans processes
  • Have a broad insights background and toolkit expertise in quantitative and qualitative research


  • Major Responsibilities:

  • Leverage and deploy global insights toolkits (e.g. brand equity, social listening, cultural foresight), and supplement for local needs


  • Build and activate insights playbooks for brand, shopper, and innovation teams to leverage (e.g. communications research playbook, packaging research playbook)


  • Identify capabilities gaps and establish standard methods, partners, and best practices (e.g. multicultural insights, campaign measurement, early buyer feedback)


  • Identify portfolio knowledge gaps, lead foundational learning plans, and activate insights to drive portfolio growth (e.g. broad topics like sustainability)


  • Be the Insights lead for Media to Shelf plans - provide thought leadership, wire deliverables into processes, and ensure insights-driven plans


  • Be a thought leader in the global insights community, and build strong relationships with global Center of Excellence insights partners


  • Scope of Role: The Senior Manager, Portfolio Insights & Strategy reports to an Insights Director. This person will be a key thought partner for the team Director, and will help drive the insights partnership model across the organization.

    The Insights team is part of a new Portfolio Growth team alongside Business Intelligence, reporting up to a Chief Transformation Officer.

    This person will work closely with Senior Manager peers in Brand Insights, Shopper Insights, and Innovation Insights. The Senior Manager will also work closely with insights partners in the global Center of Excellence team.

    Requirements:

    Education: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred

    Experience / Background:

  • 7+ years of insights & strategy experience, with a broad research toolkit in quantitative and qualitative research, and activation success stories
  • 5+ years building insights capabilities, establishing best practices, and deploying research toolkits
  • Strong experience identifying metrics that matter and leveraging behavioral science approaches
  • Strong experience wiring insights deliverables into annual plans processes
  • Significant experience building holistic learning plans, identifying game-changing insights, and shifting mindsets to drive action
  • Experience managing brand equity programs and consumer segmentations
  • Experience analyzing syndicated shopper data (e.g. Nielsen, IRI, Numerator)
  • Experience working in a global insights community strongly preferred
  • Experience in spirits, alcohol, beverages, or other image-based categories preferred
  • Ability to influence a diverse set of stakeholders at VP+ level, across insights, marketing, and sales
