Danone North America is looking for aFood Safety Audits Director - Global Food Safety Team in Louisville, Co.

Food Safety is essential for Danone to guarantee the integrity and the quality of Danone products, so people trust and enjoy what they eat and drink.

As a member of the global food safety team, you will drive a robust Food Safety Audits System, organized with a high level of independency, qualification and efficient risk-based approach. You will also play an important role in order to maintain Danone's credibility which is well recognized and trusted as a strategic & reliable partner by both internal & external stakeholders.

About the job

You co-build and lead Food Safety Audits which bring a real added value to our plants and Food Safety system. Your expertise allows you to maximize the usefulness of the FS Audits for the company and the relevance of the proposals based on your recommendations. You can rely on the quality of your reporting and your capability to disseminate the best practices. Providing a full and clear picture of the FS risks of the entities audited - mainly factories - with a risk-based approach is your main purpose. After what you give real opportunities & tools to make a step change Food Safety level & reduce the risks in consequence.

You will be responsible for:
  • Plan internal and external FS Audits on a yearly basis according a risk-based approach as well as site assessment to define the rules of audits plans
  • Qualify and coordinate internal FS Auditor network, to ensure a high value of audit and to guarantee a full independency of the auditors. Define some FS Audit training toolkit and participate at the training campus
  • Perform FS Audits to assess the level of risks and the mean of control and verification and issue FS Audit report with your recommendations
  • Perform some FS investigations mandated by General secretary and CFSO to help decision making process in case of acquisitions, investments, production stop ... and issue the FS investigation report.
  • Request the action plan and ensure the corrections and corrective actions are implemented (FS Action plan)
  • Escalate the real FS risks to operate to Danone.

About you

To be able to achieve the above and be successful in this role we believe you need to have:
  • A strong leadership ability, interviewing skills, rigor and capacity to diagnose and stay independent
  • An assertive, challenging, fair and impartial posture with a holistic view
  • The ability to quickly analyze and synthesize data, to write in a clear and concise manner, and to spot strengths and weakness
  • A clear and relevant way to present your results, with an impactful communication and in capacity to justify observations. You can deliver a message to technical and non-technical attendees
  • Know how to build relationships, being pragmatic and empathic
  • The capacity to foster collaboration with other functions & departments at all levels, and to break silos
  • The will to learn from others, being open to feedbacks and exchange with other auditors to ensure a coherent, credible and consistent audit process.

The following technical skills are substantial as well:
  • Expertise on the key technologies used in the divisions (e.g fermentation, spray drying, dry blending, pasteurization, sterilization in dairy products and plant-based products, aseptic filling, drum drying...) and their related FS risks and mitigation
  • Proficiency in identifying FS risk and associated health impact for the consumers and the impact of the key technologies
  • Good knowledge in all categories of main food hazards (allergens, contaminants, foreign bodies, microbiology, nutrition)
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis and solve problems
  • Proficient level of practical expertise in Hazard Control, pre-requisite programs, GMP, traceability and Food Defence
  • Good practical knowledge of standards covering FSMS, FSMA, FSSC 22000
