Responsibilities

About The Role:

As the Plant Health Coordinator, you will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance of the plant health and nutrient management of CCA's crops. You will work with the Plant Health Supervisor in the data collection and oversight of plant health, this will include integrated pest management, planting media management, and nutrient management. Major changes and decisions are based on research, discussion, best practices, and communication with multiple departments.

What You'll Do:
  • Oversee fertigation practices in substrate production.
  • Regularly spend time assessing crop performance, identifying crop deficiencies and toxicities, and assisting with research trials.
  • The Plant Health Coordinator will be helping facilitate CCA's Plant Health Program.
  • Responsible and Accountable for assisting in regulatory compliance, recordkeeping, and reporting of all relevant data
  • Aid in the implementation of programs for testing new fertilizers, amendments, substrates, watering strategies, etc.
  • Regularly collect leaf tissue samples for nutrient analysis
  • Perform tests to further evaluate substrate pH levels
  • Conduct leachate tests for pH and EC readings
  • Familiarize oneself with the Priva System
  • Report and maintain database of feeding schedule to Plant Health Supervisor
  • Assist in providing Plant Health Supervisor and IPM Manager with weekly reports regarding plant health, nutrition, and pertinent best practices
  • Adhere to applicable SOPs
  • Drive process improvements continuously
  • Maintain a stocked and organized inventory of inputs
  • Maintain professionalism and live CCA's core values at all times
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or inherent to the position
  • Up to 20% of domestic travel expected

Qualifications

What You'll Need to Have:
  • Minimum of Bachelors in agronomy, soils, plant or crop science
  • 2 - 3 years relevant greenhouse and/or farming experience
  • Strong background in biology, math, and statistics
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office and/or Google's G suite, particularly Excel/Sheets
  • Functional knowledge of California cannabis regulations, specifically as it pertains to cultivation and nursery work
  • Must be 21 years of age (or older) at the time of hire
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Spanish language a plus
  • Flexible work schedule as needed
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills
