Following the Company’s successful re-branding campaign, Beanfields has now demonstrated 18 consecutive months of better year-over-year performance.  To boot, the Company is coming off it’s largest selling Quarter in Company history.  Due to this rapid growth, the team is looking for an energetic sales leader to head the East.

The Director of Sales will be responsible for leading all efforts with distributors and direct retail partners alike including DSD go-to-market partners, broadline distributor customers, as well as call on key accounts in both the Natural and Conventional Grocery channels of trade, and therein utilizing and managing our external sales brokerage network wherever appropriate. 

The culture at Beanfields is scrappy, and nimble with a roll-up your sleeves, start-up mentality.  The successful candidate will have experience in creating successful promotional plans and forecasting sales volume for the region, as well as understanding the various trade spend levers to pull to help drive volume and turns at the shelf.

  • With the aid of senior leaders and internal tools, develop an annual sales and trade plan encompassing the region and key retailers therein
  • Building a pipeline of prospective new accounts that help in achieving the overall annual plan
  • Plan, execute, and manage sales plans based on the Company’s quarterly priorities and focus items
  • Regularly visit key accounts in the territory as needed to stay on top of performance reviews, as well as attend key account annual category review sessions
  • Partner and educate with our extended network of sales brokers and distributor representatives to educate the team on the brand and products and identify opportunities to sell-in new products and drive ACV as well as improved velocities
  • Utilize key sales data and insights to present to key accounts to improve overall merchandising and pricing execution
  • Represent the brand in an enthusiastic and respectful manner with the Company’s external partners and customers
  • Conduct occasional store audits, crew drives, and distributor inventory analysis
  • Strong alignment to company culture and values, and a great personality fit with the existing team, aka “Bean Crew”, is key
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills, self-motivated and ambitious
  • Experience working in primary grocery channels is preferred
  • Experience calling on key accounts including and not limited to: Publix, Wegmans, Kroger, Food Lion, Giant, Harris Teeter, and others
  • A demonstrated track record of success in establishing and delivering sales goals and implementing strategic initiatives
  • Experience in or knowledge of the natural food industry is a big plus
  • Overall willingness to chip in where needed as we continue to grow the company
  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint a must
  • Comfortable presenting SPINS/IRI/Nielsen data
  • Takes ownership of his/her work and thinks beyond the scope of a given assignment
  • Passionate about food, and/or a plant-based lifestyle a plus
  • Must live in Eastern Region of the United States and significant travel required
  • Experience in both corporate and entrepreneurial environments highly desirable
