National Sales Manager – Supplement & Vitamins

Position Overview: We seek a results-oriented Sales Manager with a proven track record in the health & wellness supplements and vitamns sector. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in launching new and emerging vitamin or supplement brands, opening new doors, and managing sales across natural specialty retail, mass grocery, and drug channels.  This role requires an entrepreneurial spirit, strong leadership, strategic planning, and excellent relationship-building skills to drive sales and expand our market presence.  MUST HAVE PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN THIS CATEGORY.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy and Execution:
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve and exceed sales targets in assigned channels.
  • Identify and capitalize on new sales opportunities within grocery, natural and specialty retail, and drug, channels.
  • Drive the launch of new and emerging brands, ensuring successful market entry and growth.

Account Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with customers to secure favorable deals.
  • Open new doors and expand the company's presence in target markets.

Channel Development:
  • Tailor sales approaches to fit the unique needs and dynamics of each channel.
  • Work with brokers, direct store delivery (DSD) partners, and wholesalers across the US to enhance distribution and sales coverage.

Business Planning and Forecasting:
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan with tactics to deliver annual net sales & profit goals, distribution goals, and promotional plans for assigned categories.
  • Develop annual objectives and forecasts for assigned categories, actively managing the business on a continual basis.

Market Analysis and Reporting:
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences to inform sales strategies.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts, reports, and performance analyses to senior management.

Collaborative Efforts:
  • Work closely with marketing, product development, and supply chain teams to align sales efforts with overall business objectives.
  • Coordinate with the customer marketing team to design unique marketing and promotional programs.

Industry Engagement:
  • Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and events to promote products and build industry connections.
  • Participate in customer meetings and presentations to showcase product offerings.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6+ years of direct customer-facing sales experience with a manufacturer or broker, with an emphasis in HBC (Health and Beauty Care); vitamin experience preferred.
  • Proven experience in launching new and emerging brands, and opening new doors in various retail channels.
  • Experience managing sales within grocery, natural and specialty retail, drug, and convenience channels.
  • Strong experience working with brokers, DSD partners, and wholesalers across the US.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite.
  • Experience working with data sources such as Circana, Symphony, and Apollo.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a sales team to achieve goals.
  • Remote position, with willingness to travel up to 40%, including overnight travel.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or relevant advanced degree.
  • Established network within the vitamin and supplement industry.
  • Experience with a national grocery chain, especially Albertsons (Corporate or Divisions)

Compensation:
Base Salary plus commission
 
We offer a flexible benefits package that currently includes health care, dental care, vision care, life insurances and disability plans. Subject to the specific terms and conditions of the respective plans, you will be eligible to participate in such benefits on the first of the month following 30 days of active employment. The company currently pays 100% of the employees’ portion of the monthly premium for dental, and vision insurance. The company will also cover all or a portion of your Health Insurance premiums, based on the policy selected. Employees can insure their eligible dependents at an additional cost.
 
We offer a 401(k) Retirement Plan with matching employer contributions of 25% of the first 6% of your compensation, which is deferred as an elective deferral. The 401(k)-company match is 100% vested immediately. You are eligible to participate in the plan on the 1st of the month after completing six (6) months of continuous employment.
 
Paid time off benefits covering holidays, sick pay, and vacation, as provided in Vilore’s policies. You will be eligible for two (2) weeks of PTO, accrued monthly, and three (3) weeks’ PTO after three (3) years of employment, and finally with your 10th year of employment you will accrue (4) weeks of vacation.  You are eligible to carry over 40 hours of PTO from one year to the next.
