Overview
Digital Product Designers at Southern Glazer's work with one or more product portfolios and generally in pairs with a senior product designer, reporting to the Director, Digital Product Design. This role is focused on projects within the Growth team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ideate and develop design concepts
- Understand the product's users and their needs
- Facilitate problem-framing & ideation sessions
- Facilitate design concepting and storyboarding to map out ideas
- Create design hypotheses and explore divergent ideas and potential solutions
- Prototype and iterate - Benchmark, create user flows, storyboards, high quality wireframes, low and high-fidelity design prototypes, and motion studies
- Collaborate with design researchers to continuously learn & iterate design work
- Present design work:
- Support design reviews with prototypes and presentations
- Provide solid rationale for design decisions
- Make compelling and persuasive presentation of ideas, concepts, and in-progress design work
Additional Primary Responsibilities
- Improve the quality of our digital experiences by using the design system and consistent interaction design patterns
- Collaborate with product development inclusive of software development in the design process
- Collaborate with other designers, software engineering, analytics, and QA teammates to bring ideas to life and products to market
Minimum Qualifications
- 4+ years of digital product design experience, inclusive of mobile app design, web design, and design systems
- Portfolio inclusive of digital project work showing end-to-end experience: from ideation to launch
- Familiarity with the full digital product lifecycle, using product roadmaps, story mapping, writing design stories, designing features, direct collaboration with development teams
- Proficient knowledge of:
- Design & prototyping tools (Figma, Protopie, Framer, Canvaa)
- Collaboration tools (Miro, FigJam, Confluence, Jira)
- Global design systems
- Responsive design best practices
- Accessibilty
- Ability to generate, visualize and prototype new concepts to demonstrate and test with users and stakeholders
Physical Demands
- Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine
- Physical demands with activity or condition may include occasional to rare amount of time include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
- May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 15lbs
