Role:

The Supply Chain Planner (Senior Associate/Manager based on experience) will report to our Head of Operations and own end to end production and materials planning, purchasing and PO tracking, inbound shipping, inventory management, and coordinating with all of our partners along the way. You will be involved in the planning and purchasing of materials for all new product launches and will play a critical role in our weekly, monthly, and quarterly supply and operations planning process with Gainful's senior leadership. You will also partner cross-functionally with marketing, finance, and other operations functions to support the overall planning and forecasting for the business.

This opportunity is perfect for an individual with 3-5 years experience in inventory management and planning who would like to accelerate their career by getting in on the ground floor of a fast-growing startup.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze monthly sales forecasts and historical data to determine SKU allocation demand
  • Create and manage forward looking production plans each period with keen eye on MOQs, line capacity, and lead times
  • Anticipate unforeseen spikes in demand or bottlenecks in supply chain to determine appropriate safety stock inventory levels
  • Review and execute materials planning for finished good production
  • Manage inventory, production, WIP, and inbound shipments for packaging, finished goods, and marketing collateral
  • Issue purchase orders to manufacturing partners and review quantity received against shipments
  • Coordinate in-bound freight to ensure goods are delivering from contract manufacturers to our warehouses on time
  • Manage relationships with contract manufacturers to ensure production plans are met
  • Assist in the roll-out of new product lines, developing sales projections and working with our partners to produce products
  • Monthly reconciliation of inventory at warehouses and co-mans
  • Negotiate costs, MOQs, and lead times with 3rd parties, focused on improving profitability and efficiency for the business
  • Work closely with our warehouses to monitor KPIs, audit inventory accuracy, and ensure customer expectations are being met
  • Manage inventory splits between multiple distribution centers

Required:
  • Minimum 3-5 years inventory planning/management experience in DTC, e-commerce, CPG, or retail
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and external contacts (co-mans, 3PL's)
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced MS Excel skills
  • Extremely detail oriented with strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to be highly flexible & multi-task in a constantly changing environment
  • Highly collaborative and effective at building strong partnerships both internally and externally
  • Process-oriented with the ability to improve and drive efficiency given the current supply chain
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills
  • Highly-motivated self-starter, autonomous problem-solver with a knack for process improvement
  • Love for startups, willingness to roll up their sleeves, and be a team player

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Operations/Supply Chain
  • Experience in a high-growth startup environment
  • Personal interest in direct-to-consumer, nutrition, fitness, or health/wellness

Location: New York City (100% remote during COVID-19 outbreak)

Hours: Full time, unlimited PTO

Pay: competitive salary + equity

  • Gainful will cover 99% of the monthly cost of the Gold plan, or 85% of Platinum
