We’re looking to fulfill a Regional Manager role with a base location in New York City. 

Primary Duty:  The Northeast Regional Manager is responsible for overseeing the P&L of the region and leading the development and execution of Barrell Craft Spirits’ off-premises and on-premise sales strategies across 6 states: New York, Illinois, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.  This role focuses on driving market sales, revenue growth, and account management. The position requires close collaboration with Sales Leadership, Marketing, and Analytics teams to implement strategies that outperform market trends and increase market share.

Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy Development and Execution

o Create, develop, and implement a comprehensive sales strategy for Barrell Craft Spirits in Southeast markets.
o Collaborate with the Head of Commercial Sales to design market expansion strategies and identify new opportunities.
o Develop sales goals aligned with the Barrell Craft Spirits budget and brand objectives.
o Drive the achievement of sales targets and manage the regional P&L.
o Align with wholesalers to support fiscal sales goals and ensure P&L success.
o Report on sales activity and market trends in executive management, reflecting volume sales and merchandising results.

Leadership and Team Management

o Provide consistent communication with the executive management team, ensuring confidence and endorsement in key presentations.
o Build and maintain strong relationships with state and distributor partners, focusing on program execution and performance analysis.
o Mentor and coach market managers and sales representatives, providing necessary training and development.
o Support negotiation efforts and assist in strategic team development.

Customer and Market Focus

o Develop programs tailored to regional and national customers to drive engagement and growth.
o Implement marketing and product innovations in regional accounts, collaborating with HQ and marketing teams.
o Monitor KPIs and track performance through regular sales meetings and strategic reviews.
o Work with Sales leadership on timely item setup with wholesalers for portfolio SKUs.
o Request and approve PO’s (monitoring QTY & Price per line item) for all wholesalers in your assigned territory.
o Communicate and manage allocations for your territory
o Foster relationships with key accounts, negotiating volume and program development.
o Support the development and training of market managers to ensure consistent customer service excellence.

Budget and KPI Management

o Set annual KPIs and configure budgets to support execution of the sales strategy and promotional plans.
o Track promotional budgets to ensure alignment with Revenue Growth Management (RGM) initiatives.
o Identify market gaps and opportunities, establishing execution, market, and value growth targets.
o Monitor scorecard performance for states and distributors, offering actionable recommendations based on key trends.
o Oversee new brand sales performance, ensuring accurate tracking and execution of programs.

Programming Implementation and Market Expansion


o Oversee the successful execution of regional programs across state channels.
o Sell in and promote regional marketing and sales programs to drive brand priorities and growth.
o Work closely with distributor partners to identify and exploit market opportunities, driving competitive advantage and expanding market share.

Sales and Expense Reporting

o Develop and analyze monthly business performance scorecards to track trends and identify performance opportunities.
o Analyze regional trends to identify risks and opportunities, offering solutions to address concerns.
o Provide regular depletion updates and market forecasts, including insights into market performance and trends.
o Lead quarterly business reviews, ensuring accurate depletion performance forecasting and inventory management.

Required Qualifications

Proven track record of strong sales and leadership experience.
Highly goal-oriented, assertive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Expertise in sales leadership and wholesaler management.
Considerable experience in sales leadership, especially in managing multiple regions or states, preferably in the spirits industry.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Expertise in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) Google G Suite, Docs, Dropbox, VIP (Idig, Karma)
Strong strategic planning abilities, with a focus on execution and results.
Experience in budget management, KPI setting, and performance tracking.
Ability to lead and motivate teams while fostering strong relationships with customers and distributors.
5-10 years of experience in wine and spirits, leading teams across multiple markets.
Proven team-building capabilities and strong organizational skills.
Ability to analyze technical documents and problem-solve effectively.
Hands-on management style, adaptable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
