The primary responsibility of the Market Manager is to expand the availability and visibility of the YaVe brand within his or her territory. This will be achieved by forming ground-level tactics to achieve the sales goals. These tactics will involve customers of on and off-premise accounts, developing those relationships, cultivating mindshare with our distributor, and educating the trade about YaVe and craft spirits. The ideal candidate possesses a high energy level excited to face the daily sales challenges and will work strategically to grow the brand within his or her territory.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Achieves KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) every month by conducting sales presentations, achieving new distribution, engaging the wholesaler, selling cocktail features, etc.
- Passionately seeks out new opportunities each day with the following:
- On-premise accounts (restaurants/bar)
- Off-premise accounts (liquor stores)
- End users and consumers
- Events and Festivals held in the marketplace
- Creates target lists and efficiently plans routes to achieve distribution and grow the business in your marketplace most effectively.
- Inspire customers and create awareness to execute sales plans.
- Actively engages wholesaler personnel i.e. Sales Reps, Merchandising teams, Sales Managers, and Sales Reps each day to help achieve sales objectives.
- Develops strategic plans for executing the sales programming in markets.
- Dogged Pursuit for success in the marketplace and then communicates those actions to others.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with all layers of our distributor partner.
- Implements creative programs to activate the consumer, including product sampling, etc.
- Attends festivals and tastings regularly.
- Sends weekly recap to the manager and any distributor follow-up as needed.
- Communicate with management your weekly schedule, challenges, opportunities, and wins in your market every week.
SKILLS NEEDED:
- Eagerness to learn more about premium tequila/agave spirits, craft, and the overall category.
- Possess strong communication skills, sound judgment, and plenty of creativity.
- Driven to win and does not like to lose.
- A detailed planner can set his or her schedule to effectively hit sales goals.
- Self-starter that executes tactical sales plans each day.
- Flexible schedule to meet time requirements for sales opportunities at any time of day.
- Motivates all business contacts to become ambassadors for YaVe.
- Proficient skills in Excel, Office, and PowerPoint.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Preferred 3 or more years of sales experience in the alcoholic beverage industry with knowledge and passion for both commercial and premium products in a retail environment
- BA degree or equivalent experience
- Well-organized with an ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Results-oriented, innovative, strong problem-solving and negotiation skills
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work and succeed in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment
- Understanding of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
