UME Plum Liqueur, the rapidly growing, game-changing plum spirit, is seeking a passionate, highly motivated on-premise sales manager based in Florida.

Meet UME
UME is the first-of-its-kind U.S. produced plum spirit that launched in NYC in June 2021. UME exists within the rapidly growing liqueurs/aperitifs category. With a bright, all-natural fruit-forward flavor and showstopping royal purple hue, UME represents a game-changing new category of spirit that engages all the senses and elevates every experience. Unlike other liqueurs/aperitifs, UME can be enjoyed on its own or paired with any base spirit or sparkling wine in an endless array of cocktails. 

The UME Story
UME was founded in 2020 by Jenn Toyzer who spent a decade working in finance, including over 8 years at Goldman Sachs. One night she discovered a plum spirit that was so delicious she felt she had been “struck by lightning”. Inspired by the opportunity to introduce a revolutionary product to the rapidly growing spritz and aperitif category, Jenn walked away from her career, embarking on a journey to create UME with a vision of bringing to market a drink that is an experience in and of itself.
 
Meeting consumer demand for a delicious and versatile spirit that is lower in ABV and half the sugar of competing products, the response to UME has been overwhelming. Since launching in Summer 2021, UME has rapidly expanded to 7 U.S. markets, and over 1,600 points of distribution. Our signature cocktail, the UME Spritz, is fast becoming the go-to Spritz / low ABV cocktail of choice for night-time revelers.
 
UME has been featured on menus at leading hospitality institutions including Nobu, Soho House, Union Square Hospitality, Major Food Group, The Standard Hotels, The Setai and many more. We have been featured alongside major brands at high-profile cultural events at NYFW, Art Basel and more. We have rapidly expanded our retail footprint with national and local chains including Total Wine & More, Binny's Beverage Depot and ABC Fine Wine & Spirits.
 
The Opportunity:
UME is poised to become the category-defining aperitif for the night-time reveler. We are seeking a highly motivated, entrepreneurial Sales Manager to join our team at this exciting moment in our growth trajectory. This candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside the founding team as we expand UME across Florida, with a focus on growing UME’s presence in the on-premise channel.

The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of industry experience, including knowledge of and relationships in key Florida on-premise markets (e.g., Tampa/Sarasota, Orlando, Miami, etc.). Excitement and passion about an opportunity to join a young, fast emerging brand as it enters its next stage of growth is a must. Creativity, motivation, enthusiasm, and a passion for growing alongside the brand will be key to success in this role.

How you will make an impact: 
  • Work directly with sales leadership, including UME’s Founder, to develop and execute a robust, high ROI sales funnel in Florida
  • Leverage existing industry relationships, identify and build new relationships with accounts that are a strong cultural and strategic fit with the UME brand
  • Serve as the brand ambassador and maintain strong presence with accounts to keep UME front of mind
  • Identify and execute opportunities to further brand reach by developing creative solutions to improve visibility in accounts -- focusing on cocktail menu placements and physical placement of product and brand assets
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create best-in-class solutions to educate accounts, stakeholders, and consumers about the magic of UME 
  • Conduct engaging educational sessions, collaborate on cocktail development, and fully engage on-premise staff with the UME brand
  • Collaborate with our distributor(s) to ensure orders are placed and received, providing accounts with “white glove” customer service 
  • Bring actionable product, marketing feedback and insights to the leadership team
  • Develop brand partnerships that intrigue and educate potential customers on UME

  • You have some experience and/or strong knowledge of cocktail making / mixology
  • You are results and success-oriented, while committed to operating with integrity, honesty and respect
