$200-250K
About Us:

Toto was inspired by our Co-founder Sydney Webb’s decade-long healing journey. After discovering the power of holistic healing through her own journey with Crohn’s disease and colon cancer, Sydney started Toto as a way to share the power of nourishing superfoods and adaptogens with the world in a delicious way.

In only 2 short years since launch, Toto has become the fastest growing protein cookie in the entire natural channel, and is in 3500 locations nationwide- including Sprouts, Vitamin Shoppe, The Fresh Market, Fresh Thyme, Thrive Market, Imperfect Foods, and more.

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic COO to lead the company through its next phase of growth, taking us from 3,500 locations to 20,000+ locations, and helping to turn Toto Foods into a household name.

This is a unique opportunity to join a rapidly growing brand with a passionate team and an incredible product that is already deeply resonating with consumers.

About You:

We are seeking a strategically minded, detail oriented, hands-on leader who has a proven track record of scaling successful food or beverage brands. You have a deep understanding of operational excellence, team management, financial efficiency, and business strategy. You know how to lead a small, nimble team while also building the infrastructure, processes, and talent required to scale effectively. You are comfortable taking the reins of a rapidly growing company, and driving performance, while working alongside a vision and brand focused CEO.

As our COO, you will be tasked with leading operations, driving growth, expanding market share, and managing key relationships across all areas of the business. You will work closely with the founder (who is focused on brand, product, and consumer relationships) to scale the company’s operations, optimize financial performance, and build a high-performing team that can support the company’s ambitious trajectory.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Leadership & Management
  • Co-Manufacturer Relations & Quality: Maintain strong relationships with co-manufacturers, capital/production efficiency, and ensuring product quality
  • Inventory & Supply Chain Management: Working with the operations team to manage inventory levels, avoiding overstock while ensuring products remain available, and coordinating production logistics.
  • Team Management & Process Optimization: Leading the team, setting goals, facilitating meetings, maintaining an organized system, and implementing process improvements.
  • Vendor & Partner Relationships: Manage relationships with key suppliers, service providers, partner organizations, and more

Finance & Cash Flow Management
  • Accounts Receivable: Oversee invoicing, follow up on overdue payments, and collaborate with ops and accounting teams to ensure all payments from retailers are collected.
  • Financial Analysis & Budgeting: Analyze and review COGS, P&L for new partnerships, retailer deals, and new products, while also setting budgets for hiring, advertising, and promotional spend.
  • Compliance & Contractor Payments: Ensure contractor payments are accurate and compliant, while coordinating with tax and finance teams to maintain proper sales tax compliance
  • Payment Strategy: Manage cash flow by deciding which payments to finance via Settle vs. paying directly from checking accounts, including delaying payments as needed.
  • Financial Monitoring & Cost Control: Track expenses across freight, packaging, materials, and human capital, identifying cost savings opportunities and reviewing subscriptions for necessity and cost efficiency.
  • Financial Reporting & Forecasting: Ensure up-to-date financial models for cash flow, inventory, and fundraising, and review monthly P&L statements with the CEO, addressing discrepancies and assisting with year-end tax filings.

Legal & Compliance
  • Contract Management: Review, negotiate, and sign contracts, including employment and contractor agreements, ensuring legal compliance.
  • Filing & Reporting: Manage annual filings for Arizona and Delaware (and potentially California), as well as compliance with Carta, Justworks, and other necessary business registration requirements.
  • Legal Oversight & Fundraising: Collaborate with legal teams for compliance checks on marketing materials and documentation for fundraising rounds, ensuring all necessary agreements are signed.

Business Growth & Strategy
  • Strategic Planning: Work closely with the CEO to develop, analyze, and adjust business strategies, ensuring they balance risk and opportunity.
  • Program & Event Management: Oversee and expand fundraising programs like Heja, ensuring smooth coordination, material creation, and stock availability.
  • Growth Analysis: Evaluate new business opportunities, partnerships, and retail relationships, ensuring financial viability and risk management.
  • New Business Opportunities: Working with the leadership team to identify and pursue new revenue streams and to refine/execute go-to-market strategies for new products

What We’re Looking For:
  • Proven Experience: At least 5-10 years of experience in senior leadership roles within the food and beverage industry, with a strong track record of scaling brands from early-stage growth to significant revenue.
  • Strong Operational Expertise: Demonstrated experience in managing a business at scale, including finance, operations, sales, and marketing. You must have a deep understanding of how to create scalable systems and drive operational excellence.
  • Strategic Thinker: Experience in creating and executing strategic growth plans, with the ability to identify market opportunities, develop new revenue streams, and drive financial performance.
  • Team Builder: Experience building and leading high-performing teams, with the ability to attract and retain top talent in all functions. Ability to foster a collaborative, results-driven culture.
  • Industry Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the food or beverage industry, especially in the natural products space. Experience working with retail buyers, distributors, and investors is a must.
  • Adaptability & Growth Mindset: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and pivot as needed while maintaining focus on long-term goals.

Bonus Qualifications:
  • Experience in brand-building and marketing, especially in the direct-to-consumer space.
  • Strong connections in the natural food industry, including retail buyers, distributors, and investors.
  • A passion for the health and wellness industry and a deep understanding of consumer trends in natural foods.
If you're an experienced COO with a passion for building brands and scaling businesses, and you're ready to take the reins of a rapidly growing company, we’d love to hear from you.
