Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Demand Planner to lead and optimize our Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring alignment between demand forecasting, sales strategies, and supply chain execution. This role will be responsible for the governance, implementation, and management of S&OP, driving data-driven decision-making to enhance operational efficiency and maximize revenue.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience in sales and demand planning within the non-alcoholic beverage industry, specifically within a Direct Store Delivery (DSD) route-to-market model. They will work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain teams to develop robust demand forecasts, optimize inventory levels, and support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Demand Planning & Forecasting
- Develop and maintain rolling demand forecasts by analyzing historical sales data, market trends, and promotional activity.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and operations teams to integrate customer insights and business intelligence into demand plans.
- Utilize advanced forecasting techniques and tools to optimize accuracy and reduce forecast bias.
Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) Management
- Lead the S&OP process, ensuring clear communication and collaboration across all key stakeholders.
- Facilitate monthly S&OP meetings, aligning demand and supply plans with financial and operational objectives.
- Establish governance frameworks to enhance S&OP efficiency, accountability, and adherence to best practices.
Route-to-Market & DSD Management
- Manage demand planning within a DSD distribution model, ensuring accurate forecasting to support distributor inventory needs.
- Work closely with DSD distributors to track inventory levels, sales velocity, and replenishment cycles.
- Develop sell-in and sell-through strategies to improve demand visibility and reduce stockouts or overages.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with sales and finance teams to align demand planning with revenue targets and P&L goals.
- Work with marketing to incorporate promotional activities, new product launches, and seasonal demand fluctuations into forecasting models.
- Provide insights and recommendations to executive leadership on demand trends, risks, and opportunities.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Track forecast accuracy, identify gaps, and implement continuous improvements in forecasting methodologies.
- Analyze POS, distributor, and market data to refine forecasts and support strategic planning.
- Develop and present KPI reports to leadership, providing insights on demand trends, supply constraints, and forecast performance.
Qualifications & Experience
- 7+ years of experience in demand planning and sales forecasting, ideally within the non-alcoholic beverage industry.
- Proven experience working in a DSD (Direct Store Delivery) distribution model.
- Expertise in S&OP implementation, management, and governance.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in forecasting software, ERP systems, and Excel.
- Experience collaborating with distributors, retailers, and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to translate data insights into actionable strategies that drive growth and efficiency.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or related field; MBA is a plus.
