Role Responsibilities

Basic Function
  • Provide proper specification, installation, and maintenance of liquid & packaging systems plant-wide, while providing subject matter expertise in the gemba.
  • Design and manage Capital projects in all areas of the plant. Provide technical support to the processing, production and maintenance departments for improvements relating to methods and procedures.

Essential functions of the position
  • Be a subject matter expert for Frankfort processing & packaging operations related to continuous improvement and/or capital installations.
  • Manage multiple, concurrent projects as Technical Leader or Plant Liaison to successfully move projects through concept, design, build activation, training and as-build documentation while maintaining cost control.
  • Contribute to development of capital budget program, prepare capital authorization request, and administer projects for improvements in a team environment.
  • Analyze and prepare cost justification for projects.
  • Identify potential cost saving or process improving projects throughout the plant.
  • Design and/or select equipment required for the plant.
  • Document equipment and procedures necessary for projects.
  • Find solutions to reduce bottlenecks in all plant processes.
  • Adheres to and promotes environmental health and safety as one of the organization's business priorities.
  • Promotes and adheres to ISO, HACCP and 5S standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Seek out continuing education to stay abreast of current and future processing & packaging engineering technologies.
  • Accept other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Preferred 3 to 5 years experience in effectively managing projects
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD drafting.
  • Ability to create, edit, and read flow diagrams and PID's.
  • Working knowledge of Controllers, Variable Frequency Drives, Automation Systems, DCS, and PLC systems.
  • Ability to work independently to develop project scopes, schedule meetings, coordinate contractors, outlook progress and modify actions as necessary to maintain schedules, track spending and expenditures and perform all other activities necessary for proper project management.
  • Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet programs.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Possess a valid driver's license, for driving to remote plants.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and walk up and down stairs.
  • Must be able to walk moderate distances - up to one mile.
  • Must be able to tolerate extreme heat and cold for short periods of time.
  • Must have adequate vision to take field measurements, use computers, and read drawings and maps.
  • Must be able to stay on work site for extended periods of time when required.
  • ISO, HACCP, and Continuous Improvement experience preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of SAP, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

Education
  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited Engineering College or equivalent engineering education & experience
