The Legal Assistant enhances legal department effectiveness by providing administrative support for five lawyers and one paralegal in the legal department of a large, multi-national privately-held company. SGWS supports the company with operations in 44 states, the District of Columbia, and Canada.

Overview
The Legal Assistant enhances legal department effectiveness by providing administrative support for five lawyers and one paralegal in the legal department of a large, multi-national privately-held company. SGWS supports the company with operations in 44 states, the District of Columbia, and Canada.
Primary Responsibilities
- Facilitate the review and revision of contracts submitted to the SGWS legal team using contract tracking tools and the department's contract management database.
- Process contracts for signature through the legal department's electronic signature procedure.
- Drive, track, and expedite due dates, deadlines, and task completion for the legal team as needed.
- Arrange travel, meetings, and appointments for attorneys.
- Prepare and submit expense reports for attorneys.
- Review and proofread legal documents for correct grammar, spelling, and format.
- Compose letters, draft memoranda, create exhibits, and prepare reports based on instructions from attorneys.
- Assist in planning and coordination of legal team events.
- Represent the organization with professionalism and integrity while maintaining a high degree confidentiality.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Additional Primary Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency plus two years of experience.
- Proficiency using Office365 including Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to understand legal documents, including contracts, and extract key terms.
- Strong communication skills - written, verbal, and ability to facilitate strong working relationships.
- Excellent accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to process large volume of documents.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Physical Demands
- Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), or adding machine.
- Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping.
- May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 15lbs.
