We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative General Accounting Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our financial data, contributing to the overall success of our accounting operations. You'll have the opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic environment and work closely with the General Accounting Manager and other team members.

Location: Hybrid 3 days a week based out of our NYC OfficeJob responsibilities

Responsibilities:

General Accounting:
  • Responsible for the preparation and delivery of the monthly, quarterly, and hard close accounting journal entries and schedules, including standard entries, accruals and deferrals
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc analysis and supporting schedules, as requested, and review/approve analyses and supporting schedules for review with the General Accounting Manager.
  • Conduct ongoing review of general ledger and accounting data throughout each reporting period, coordinate and manage any necessary corrective action, advising accounting department management of key issues.
  • Assist the with legal entity budgeting and forecasting process, as needed
    Responsible for lease accounting, including the data inputs into the lease management system (Leasa), confirming the accuracy of accounting entries, and providing corresponding reports for reporting.
  • Partner with Facilities to make sure we are in compliance with contractual obligations; advise accounting department management of key issues.

Overheads Reporting:
  • Responsible for the preparation and distribution of internal monthly overheads reporting for Accounting and Finance review.
  • Continually review the data and structure to adapt to Corporate and Financial organizational and structural change.

Account Reconciliation:
  • Prepare monthly schedules analyzing and reconciling specifics balance sheet accounts for review with Accounting Management.
  • Propose and execute any necessary corrective actions.
  • Review accounts as part of the monthly closing process to ensure accuracy and comprehensiveness.

Innovation / Projects:
  • Assist the General Accounting Manager in the implementation and training relevant of system updates and changes, including providing management briefings to highlight the changes and their resulting impact. Continually review existing processes and procedures and apply business insight to suggest and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Assist the General Accounting Manager in the planning and execution of new product, process and/or system launches.
  • Maintain a flexible and adaptable mindset by continually evaluating, revising, and responding with agility to meet rapidly evolving business needs, and perform other functions or duties as assigned.

Audit / Internal Control:
  • Prepare and present any necessary schedules to satisfy Financial and Internal Control audit requirements, as requested; by the General Accounting Manager
  • Maintain an understanding of all internal control policies and ensure compliance of relevant accounting processes, informing the Controller of any deviation. Ensure that all processes are documented and continually updated.

Leadership:
  • Provide collaborative support and guidance to the Accounting and Finance teams. Build cross-functional partnerships to meet corporate objectives.
  • Identify and seize new opportunities, readily take on new challenges and display a can-do attitude in good and bad times.
  • Take on the challenge of unfamiliar tasks, learn quickly when facing new situations.
