WHAT WE WANT:
We are Graft Cider/Hudson North Cider and we are located in Newburgh, NY! We are recruiting for a Cider Operations Manager (Head Cidermaker) to join our production team. The Head Cidermaker will be in charge of leading and organizing the cellar team as well as coordinating with packaging, logistics and management to meet goals. This role will also be responsible for identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives throughout the cidery with the goals of improving efficiency, reducing cost of operations, and driving results to planned performance metrics in a safe production environment.

The Head Cidermaker will be in charge of leading and organizing the cellar team as well as coordinating with packaging, logistics and management to meet goals. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Efficiently manage a small team in the cellar to produce world class ciders
- Assure production staff are properly trained and utilized to ensure efficient production
- Develop a safe, clean and quality-conscious workplace environment
- Assure proper quality controls and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) in production processes
- Help to develop and foster a learning culture in the beverage production team
- Work with Sales, Marketing and other cross-functional efforts to develop and test new products in line with market opportunities
- Manage our raw materials supply chain to minimize waste, keep costs low and optimize inventory management
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist the rest of the Production Team (Packaging/Logistics) to assure timely production of all products
- Keep work areas clean and sanitary
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong communication, organization, planning and leadership skills
- Excellent problem solving skills, able to create well thought out solutions
- Positive attitude, team first approach, willing to get the job done and not make excuses
- Able to manage stress, willing to work in a fast paced environment
- Fast and willing learner
- High competency with computers for production management software (ekos), spreadsheets, word documents, and emails
- We are a fast growing company, from time to time you will be expected to perform tasks outside your core areas of responsibility
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Experience and understanding of yeast management.
- Alcoholic beverage production experience.
- Production and/or supply chain management experience.
- Ability to operate forklifts.
Compensation: $50,000-$60,000
