The IT Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in the organization, reporting directly to the IT Management Consultant and overseeing the entire IT department. This includes project leadership, ERP system integrations, computer hardware & networks, security, data automation and BI analytics. This position demands a high level of collaboration with the IT Management Consultant to successfully drive projects from inception to completion while actively motivating and engaging the IT team to promote accountability and performance excellence.

 

Key responsibilities include assessing and analyzing business needs, managing relationships with vendors/consultants, and guiding system implementations. The IT Operations Manager is committed to maintaining the highest quality standards and enhancing operational effectiveness through strategic crossfunctional collaboration. This role is essential in leveraging technology to meet organizational goals and elevate overall productivity.

 

Location/Region: Corporate HQ – Houston, TX 77019

 

Principal Duties

  • Oversee the IT department, including IT desktop support, IT project leads, BI leads, and machine learning specialists.
  • Support the IT Management Consultant with the implementation of projects from inception to completion.
  • Motivate, engage, and hold IT department personnel accountable for their performance.
  • Ensure the successful implementation and integration of SAP and ERP systems.
  • Utilize strong business intelligence knowledge to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Monitor project milestones, generate periodic status reports, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the IT department.
 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of SAP (Including modules: SD, MM, FI, CO, LE) and other IT systems.
  • Strong understanding of business intelligence and data analytics.
  • Dominance of Windows Active Directory and MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of trade systems, transportation systems, Google Cloud is preferred.
  • Data automation, EDI, API, IDOCS.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and engage team members.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • At least five (5) years of experience managing an IT team and leading/implementing initiatives.
  • Proven work experience with SAP and ERP systems.
  • Strong understanding and experience in business intelligence.
  • Project management certification is preferred.

  • Willingness to travel occasionally for project-related activities.
 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
