Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits currently seeks a Senior Manager, Commercial Insights - On Premise. This role serves as our On Premise business intelligence expert and provides critical analytic and customer marketing support to educate and influence our key On Premise customers. The Senior Manager will directly support the National Accounts On Premise (NAOP) selling efforts through their vision, thought leadership, and analytical expertise. They will collaborate with the NAOP VP, National Account Managers, Channel Managers and Brand Managers to develop consumer, channel and customer-focused strategies, tactics, and solutions. This is a remote position that reports to the Director of Commercial Insights.

Responsibilities:
  • Annual Planning:
    • Work with Account Managers to develop annual plans designed to achieve DFWS goals to include programming, innovation, and distribution targets
    • Drive alignment on compliance goals and regional priorities to ensure field sales owns local execution of all national chain programs
    • Assist in the delivery of volume, distribution (by-the-glass/cocktail placements) and profit plan for select National Accounts On Premise (NAOP) chains.
  • Thought Leadership and Performance Management:
    • Design, deliver and analyze all On Premise Reporting & Performance Management Tools. Monitor competitive set and identify new threats or opportunities.
    • Manage NAOP Account Directory and incorporate into internal depletions data warehouse.
    • Oversee and report on depletion performance versus plan, emphasizing key risks and opportunities. Provide insights to inform both short-term and long-term channel strategies.
    • Identify key distribution, velocity and compliance voids and highlight most valuable gaps; provide information and tools necessary to close gaps.
    • Analyze Nielsen CGA reports and industry publications; understand performance drivers and create customized reports that can be shared with key customers.
  • Sales Collateral:
    • Create fact-based rationale to garner support of our brands in the On Premise. Customize National sales stories and sell sheets to meet NAOP chain specific needs.
    • Help in the preparation of annual retailer Top to Tops with targeted NAOP chain accounts.
    • Attend chain account calls focused on annual planning, quarterly business reviews, innovation and RFP presentations.
  • Commercial Marketing:
    • Collaborate with On Premise Channel managers to develop ad-hoc custom programs from conception to execution and evaluation.
    • Lead monthly discussion with commercial brand teams to review performance and identify risks and opportunities. Manage ad hoc analytic requests.
    • Support delivery of select brand supplier reviews

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree; MBA preferred.
  • 7-10 years fact-based selling and/or marketing experience in CPG or Syndicated Research Industry (Circana/Nielsen) with at least 5 years in Beverage Alcohol. Previous customer or field marketing experience is a plus.
  • Keen awareness of the On Premise channel and sub-channel dynamics, brand/category trends and the mechanics of effectively customizing and selling in programs to chain customers.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and apply syndicated data to support targeted business plans and drive actionable solutions. Proficiency in data extraction, analysis, and presentation creation/delivery is a must.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, coupled with strong presentation skills, demonstrating the ability to tell a story with data.
  • Effective multi-tasking and project management skills with the ability to develop, negotiate and manage project scope, timeline, work plan, and deliverable for on time delivery in a fast-paced environment.
  • Desire to work in a matrixed organization with the ability to proactively provide insights to multiple internal stakeholders including Sales, Marketing, Commercial Planning and Business Intelligence.
  • Authentic and amiable interpersonal and presentation style with the ability to effectively interface with customers, distributors and internal executives.
  • Highly self-motivated and results-driven with strong business acumen, curiosity, attention to detail and the ability to identify issues/opportunities for improvement and be proactive in addressing them.
  • Expert Excel and PowerPoint Skills.
  • Willingness to travel 20% of the time.
