Supports the Business Development Manager (BDM) in achieving sales goals for the Texas Market by driving brand and category, making plans, and executing across on and off-premise channels/customers.
Responsible for supporting and building the brand through education and opening of new on-premise accounts, new well placements, and menu placements for El Dorado and DR in their respective market.

- Supports distributor relationship building with on-premise to open accounts and secure increased visibility and menu features, ensuring brand equity is built in addition to case volume.
- Support sales team to gain listings and/or programs by providing rum and brand expertise for both the on-premise and off-premise.
- Collaborate with the Spirits team to identify opportunities for our portfolio - brands to partner with, develop programs, and activate brands.
- Partner with BDM to help drive top-of-mind awareness among distributor teams for El Dorado and Diamond Reserve assisting with GSMs, market activity planning, and recapping.
- Rum Education
- Provide formal and informal rum education and training for the distributor sales team, trade, and consumers.
- Be the brand’s “product expert,” promote and educate the distributor sales team about our products using superior brand and category knowledge.
- Partner with the brand team to ideate and develop marketing collateral, as requested by the brand team
- Events
- Support BDM at consumer events when requested.
- Attend all key trade events and customer activations (within budget) to ensure alignment to strategy, garner learnings, and recommend opportunities for national programming.
- Leverage brand and trade-sponsored events by leading and owning on-premise placement strategy, program development, and in-market amplification.
- Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Provide weekly activity reports to BDM.
- Provide monthly market intelligence report to BDM, highlighting best practices and ideas as leverage for our brands.
- Manage expenses to budget allocation for support and events.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be prepared to work in the field 75% of the time.
INDEPENDENCE:
Mainly independent work, with weekly scheduled calls with the BDM to review reports of the previous week and upcoming week’s schedule, accounts visited and strategize for follow-ups or next steps.
WORK RELATIONS:
Works closely with the Distribution partner of El Dorado and Diamond Reserve Rums, to assist in strategizing for brand market growth and support.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTES required to perform the duties of the post:
Preferred experience in the food and beverage industry, on-premise work for 2-4 years.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Able to communicate efficiently about brand education in front of small to large-sized groups of people.
· Comfortable discussing pricing and promotional offers.
· Flexible working hours: the job requires evening and nighttime hours.
