Market Manager - Connecticut

Are you ready to make a significant impact in the world of cannabis brand building? As the Market Manager (MM) - Connecticut at COAST Cannabis Co., you will be the driving force behind our brand marketing efforts within your designated market. You will work closely with the EVP of Commercialization and Director of Marketing to plan, develop, manage, and execute sales & marketing plans and budgets. Your role will be pivotal in managing COAST’s success with our local production and retail partners. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Relationship Management: Forge meaningful relationships with both our local production and retail partners. 
  • Account Management: Directly support our local production partners in sales efforts including but not limited to: monthly/quarterly sales calls, brand activations, in-store pop-ups, staff/consumer educations, seminars & local events. 
  • Innovative Marketing Execution: Plan and execute marketing programming throughout Connecticut, ensuring alignment with brand partners and local customer base. 
  • Strategic Initiative Development: Leverage consumer insights and segmentation research to create actionable local initiatives that drive sales and marketing objectives. 
  • Opportunity Evaluation: Source and evaluate local marketing opportunities, including local media buys, sponsorships, retail activations, and experiential marketing programs, ensuring brand fit and ROI.
  • Resource Management: Oversee Local Marketing Funds (LMF) allocation, financial forecasts, budget reviews, and adherence to company and regulatory policies.
  • Compliance and Legal Approval: Ensure all programming is vetted, legally approved, and compliant with marketing policies in your designated market.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Utilize knowledge of local & state cannabis laws in developing and implementing marketing programs.
  • Communication and Reporting: Maintain constant communication with key stakeholders and submit regular programming execution evaluations and updates.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, sales, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of progressive experience in a related role, preferably in the cannabis, beverage alcohol, or traditional CPG industries. 
  • Strong knowledge of sales & marketing principles, practices, tactics, and tools.
  • Creativity and ability to follow through on marketing projects from inception to completion.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and comfort with public speaking.
  • Successful track record of working with music/event venues, and small to large-scale special events.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and adaptability to additional software programs.
  • Confident, proactive, creative, and collaborative style.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Highest degree of ethics and professional conduct.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A combination of Cannabis / Beverage Alcohol / Traditional CPG industry subjective matter expertise 
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
  • Remote work position with regular local travel requirements
  • Must have reliable transportation 
  • Ability to fly commercially 
  • Overnight Travel: Ability to stay overnight or up to multiple days in other parts of the designated state/region
  • Weekend/ Nights Availability. This will vary depending on the market needs. 
  • Lifting and moving 25 lbs. 
  • Must be able to stand and talk with others for extended periods
