Overview
Oversee the planning and publishing of website content in accordance with sales, merchandising plans, and marketing plans to deliver an optimal customer experience enabling a seamless user experience and swift journey through purchase funnel.
● Analyze sales and site performance regularly, report, and make recommendations to improve performance
● Ongoing analysis of site traffic and conversion analysis, and recapping of specific site programming efforts
● Perform cost/benefit analysis for all site development projects
● Review existing site applications and recommend new methods of engaging users that support sales, lead generation and engagement goals, ultimately seeking to increase online sales, repeat users and consumer database
● Plan and create web opportunities with emphasis on merchandising and increasing sales, average order value, upsell, as well as consumer engagement
● Marketing through the site: methods and support for growing consumer database, lead generation, Email/SMS, shopping promotions, and loyalty programs.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Ecommerce Manager, your primary responsibilities include the following:
● Develop and execute a comprehensive ecommerce strategy aligned with the brand's objectives, ensuring a seamless online shopping experience and driving revenue growth.
● Manage the day-to-day operations of our Shopify ecommerce platform, ensuring smooth functionality and user-friendly navigation including management of the product life cycle through setup, merchandising, monitoring, optimization, maintenance, and retirement.
● Emphasis on sales productivity, customer experience, usability, product placement, navigation, and site integrity and bringing the brand, and product offerings to life to positively impact conversion and customer experience.
● Coordinate with various teams including buying and marketing to ensure accurate and up-to-date product information and imagery is reflected on the website.
● Oversee the maintenance and optimization of our website, ensuring it reflects the brand's aesthetics and user-friendly interface, while staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices.
● Partner with developer and design to review open projects, site programs and ongoing enhancements
● Oversee and work closely with external partners and cross-functional teams in creation and implementation of site updates, new development projects, A/B testing, and ongoing calendar of optimizations
● Monitor and analyze website metrics, sales performance, and customer behavior to identify trends, optimize user experience, and recommend improvements to enhance online sales.
● Manage inventory and ensure accurate stock levels are reflected on the website, coordinating with the buying team.
● Propose and execute homepage and key landing page updates to align with merchandising, marketing opportunities and company wide strategies.
● Stay up-to-date with the latest ecommerce trends, technologies, and industry best practices, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance our online presence and improve customer satisfaction.
● Continuously improve the customer journey by analyzing user behavior, gathering feedback, and implementing strategies to increase conversion and enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
● Identify opportunities to increase email/SMS opt-ins and leads through key site touch points, progressively expanding brand database and customer profiles
● Manage planning and execution of shopping programs and promotions (including set up, testing, execution and analytics), and methods for promoting throughout site
● Set up tactics for capturing 1st party data, motivating expanded consumer engagement, and ways to progressively gather valuable insights for use on future programs
● Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the success of eCommerce initiatives. Utilize data-driven insights to identify opportunities for growth and address challenges proactively.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
● Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
● 5+ years of related work experience in Ecommerce, merchandising or related field. Preferred within the beauty, wellness, fashion, or retail industry.
● Hands on experience working with Shopify Plus ecommerce platform, and related tech stack, fully conversant in working with the Shopify Admin tools.
● Hands on experience with Google Analytics and other analytics tools for measuring web, shopping, and consumer activities
● Hands on experience in ecommerce, merchandising and UI/UX and well versed in ecommerce best-in-class tactics
● Project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and communicate out to key stakeholders
● Ability to be a strategic as well as creative and resourceful thinker
● Flexibility, resourcefulness and a positive attitude, especially in this entrepreneurial and fluid environment
● Data driven thought process, to understand every step of the user funnel. Design, run, and interpret experiments and A/B tests, and consider how changes will impact the business and customers
