As we continue to grow and expand our market presence, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Sales to oversee our sales operation.

Position Overview: The Director of Sales will be a key executive responsible for driving revenue growth and market expansion for our whiskey brands. This role demands a strategic leader with a strong track record in sales management, market development, and revenue optimization. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the spirits industry, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to create and execute effective sales strategies that align with our company’s vision and goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Revenue Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive revenue generation strategies to drive growth across all channels, including direct-to-consumer, wholesale, and distribution partnerships
  • Sales Leadership: Lead and mentor sales team to achieve sales targets. Establish clear performance metrics and foster a high-performance culture
  • Market Expansion: Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities. Develop and foster strategic partnerships and alliances to enhance market presence
  • Revenue Optimization: Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer insights to optimize pricing strategies, product offerings, and promotional activities
  • Financial Forecasting: Develop and maintain financial models to project future revenues, expenses, and cash flows.
  • Budget Planning and Management: Lead the budgeting process, including the preparation, review, and finalization of all sales organizational budgets. Monitor budget performance and track variances between actual and budgeted financial results.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, production, and finance teams to ensure alignment and support for revenue goals and overall business objectives
  • Customer Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and industry stakeholders to enhance brand loyalty
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports and updates to the executive team on revenue performance, market conditions, and strategic initiatives
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in sales and high level revenue management in the distilled spirits industry. Proven track record of successful growth of an emerging brand.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills with experience hiring, managing and developing high-performing sales teams. Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate team members.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the whiskey industry, including market trends, customer preferences, and regulatory considerations.
  • Strong Work Ethic: Demonstrated commitment to achieving objectives and going above and beyond when necessary. Ability to handle setbacks and maintain motivation to push through obstacles.
  • Entrepreneurial Mindset: Resourceful with the ability to leverage limited resources creatively and efficiently to achieve goals. Experience in generating and implementing new ideas to improve processes or solve problems. Ability to handle diverse tasks and adapt to various roles in a fast-paced and evolving professional environment.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute strategic plans that align with overall business objectives. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written business communication skills. Ability to effectively present and negotiate with senior stakeholders and partners.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
