Packaging Manager

Purpose: This position is responsible for overall performance of the packaging department, including people, equipment, and systems. This position will drive continuous improvement to drive optimal production performance while meeting customer and business expectations.

Essential Duties:
  • Oversee packaging department and initiatives; direct and coordinate production processes and operational functions to achieve goals and optimal production performance; meet production schedules and quality standards; coordinate with distribution to ensure efficiency between departments.
  • Monitor and recommend improvements in processes to increase efficiency; support quality efforts, coordinate teams to resolve quality problems and develop resolutions; sponsor yearly vendor audits; prepare, prioritize, and justify project resource requests
  • Develop and drive productivity strategies designed to promote continuous improvement efforts and optimize production efficiencies; utilize tools such as 6s, TPM, TAKT, value stream mapping, etc.; analyze, and measure cost and impact of productivity initiatives
  • Manage and coach leadership team, mentor and develop leadership skills, monitor department coherence, conduct performance reviews, and develop succession plans
  • Maintain and ensure safety compliance including overseeing safety standards and policies are followed and manage safety concerns and continuous improvement efforts
  • Oversee capital and development budgets, address variances and ensure accurate reporting
  • Member of on leadership teams coordinating and contributing to company and process improvement and overall success
  • Other projects and duties as assigned


Education/Experience (but not limited to):
  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years high volume manufacturing experience or equivalent
  • Operational management experience required
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Green Belt a plus
  • Proven ability to manage production processes, quality control, costs, and utilization of other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including design, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Strong understanding of OEE and process monitoring systems
  • Strong planning and project management skills
  • Good understanding of GMP principles
  • Basic understanding of brewing science and packaging process
  • Strong personal computer skills. (PowerPoint Word, Excel)

Wage information is provided in compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and is Bell's and New Belgium's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation range and benefits offered for this position. The compensation offered to the successful applicant may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, or other position-related reasons.

Starting Salary Range: $75,000.00-$100,000.00
