We believe everyone deserves to eat the kind of delicious, nutritious and clean food we’re fortunate enough to share with our own families and friends. As a women-founded company, we are committed to raising up and supporting women and the children they care for in both our local communities and around the globe. Because no one, especially a child, deserves to go without love or food.

We are working with the Whitaker Peace & Development Initiative on what we know will be an impactful charitable partnership. Founded by the artist and activist Forest Whitaker, WPDI promotes values of peace, reconciliation and social development within vulnerable communities around the world that have been affected by conflict and instability. We’re pledging $400,000 to support women’s empowerment through an entrepreneurship program in South Sudan, which will provide funding to women for both education and small business development.

Val first visited the Sudan in 1981. She holds a deep affection for the people who welcomed and cared for her during her year long journey there. Newly independent South Sudan is a fragile country that has seen years of violent conflict - conflict that oppresses women, especially. In South Sudan, women suffer the highest maternal mortality rate in the world, and there are few opportunities for access to economic, educational and health services. Breezy and Val Griffith have been empowered by their own entrepreneurial journey, and they are deeply moved by the circumstances faced by the women of South Sudan. The entire SkinnyDipped team is committed to helping these women in the fields of education and entrepreneurship, with the expertise of the WPDI.

SkinnyDipped was founded us, a mom and daughter in Seattle, WA. But it began with our friend Josh Dickerson, who blazed bright and brilliant through our lives in 2012 before succumbing to a rare sarcoma at the age of eighteen. A young person’s death stops you in your tracks. It makes you reconsider your own life’s priorities. We had always been a close family, but we had scattered here and there and like a lot of people, we were busy. Time with the ones you love is a precious, fleeting thing and we wanted more of it. So we started a business together. That our company would be centered around food was obvious. For us—family, friends, food and love are all tangled up. It gets a little messy sometimes, like the way a kitchen is pleasantly chaotic when everyone is whizzing around while whipping up something delicious. Along with best friends Lizzie Resta & Chrissy Haller, we spent years perfecting our SkinnyDipped almonds. These were the first in our line of balanced, healthy and insanely delicious snacks. We hope they give you and the ones you love as much happiness as they give us.
