We are a small, high-end, truly craft distillery with well respected, soughtafter and collectable brands, the only pot distilled producer in Nelson County, first female founded and run distillery in Kentucky. 

Preservation Distillery was founded in 2016 by long time bourbon spirits brand owner, Marci Palatella, one of the pioneers in the renaissance of Kentucky Bourbon. Known among collectors, Marci worked with the best in the business at a very early stage when bourbon was not a "thing".  Never settling for anything less than superior, our own pot distilled Kentucky Bourbon and Rye turned 6 years old this past fall, and we are just now planning to release these exceptional barrels under our flagship brand, Preservation.  If you are a whiskey geek, some of our better known brands are Very Olde St Nick, Olde St Nick, Rare Perfection, Wattie Boone, and Pure Antique whiskey.   We are one of the very first distilleries in Kentucky to focus on sustainability, and our story around that, along with our family's almost seven decade history in the industry is impactful.  Recognized for producing and releasing the highest quality bourbon and whiskey, Marci and now Preservation continue to release micro batch bottlings of Kentucky Bourbon and other whiskey from their vintage barrel collection. Preservation's outstanding products will allow us to satisfy the demand for our barrel picks and line extensions in key markets beginning this year.

 

Preservation is family owned, and our distillery team is an extended part of that family.  "Nice" and "Warm" are two of the key traits we look for when hiring people at the distillery;  it's the first thing many guests notice when visiting here.  We are a close knit group and people who work with us care deeply about what we're making, our culture here, and each other. We have decided not to have a master distiller as our quality products and our success is the result of the work of the team, not one individual.  Each person here plays an important role in the creation of our whiskey, and in sharing our story.
