Icelandic Glacial History

  • The water comes from an underground spring that's naturally filtered through lava rock by Iceland's snowmelt and rainfall. The spring is one of the largest in the world, and its daily overflow is more than double the amount of bottled water consumed globally.
  • The 7,688 sq ft facility is fully automated and hands-free, and can produce up to 30,000 bottles per hour. The water travels directly from the spring into the facility, which is kept at a positive air pressure to prevent outside air from entering. The filling process takes place in a clean room that meets laboratory standards
  • Icelandic Glacial's facilities and products are accredited by the NSF, and meet or exceed the requirements of the FDA and WHO. The Icelandic Public Health Authority also regularly inspects the facility to ensure it complies with WHO standards
  • In the United States, Icelandic Glacial is distributed by Anheuser-Busch Inbev, which has owned 20% of the company since 2007. Icelandic Glacial water is available in over 54,000 stores, over 400 luxury hotels, and in almost all US airports
