Working with farmers and suppliers for the best ingredients, establishing our Texas cookery, and taking the first steps at CANIDAE® Farms toward getting involved in the growing of some of the ingredients we use are all important parts of our commitment to pets and their people. CANIDAE® remains an independently owned brand pet lovers can trust to provide innovative and authentic foods for the beloved dogs and cats that enrich our lives in so many ways.

CANIDAE® Pet Food Company co-founders and co-owners, John Gordon and Scott Whipple, launched our business out of a Southern California feed store in 1996. From the beginning, they wanted to make a pet food that made a difference. As part of that continued commitment, in 2012 we opened our own Ethos Pet Nutrition cookery in Brownwood, Texas. And in 2017, we took the first steps at CANIDAE® Farms toward getting involved in the growing of some of the ingredients we use in our pet foods. John and Scott—and the rest of our dedicated team—continue to work hard to develop innovative and authentic pet foods that pet owners can feel good about feeding. CANIDAE® remains an independent and family-owned company—taking great care to build relationships with those who supply the quality ingredients used in our pet foods, as well as those retailers and distributors who help get our products to our loyal customers. We will continue to support small companies, like our own, as much as possible.
