WhistlePig Rye Whiskey
Entrepreneur Raj P. Bhakta founded WhistlePig in 2010 with a single goal: creating the world’s finest rye whiskeys. In 2007 Bhakta spent his life savings on a former dairy farm in Shoreham, Vermont, and in three years’ time transformed the 1300-acre farm into the brand’s home and site of its future distillery. Bhakta also enlisted the help of one of the whiskey world’s leading lights, former Maker’s Mark Master Distiller Dave Pickerell. After scouring North America, Pickerell discovered and exceptional rye distilled in western Canada, and set about returning rye whiskey to its well deserved position as the nation’s first and signature spirit.
After years spent restoring one of the oldest farms in Vermont, WhistlePig officially opened its distillery on October 3, 2015 at its working agricultural headquarters in Shoreham. Situated near Lake Champlain, the new facility is a fully integrated, single estate distillery from farm-to-bottle.
WhistlePig is the leader in leading luxury Rye Whiskey company, having recently won Best in Show Whiskey from the SF World Spirits Competition.
