State Market Manager at United Wine & Spirits

We’re seeking a dynamic State Market Manager to drive growth, build strong distributor and account relationships, and lead sales initiatives in your region.

🌟 What You’ll Do:
  • Independently manage key on- and off-premise accounts, developing strong relationships and executing portfolio strategies.
  • Lead, direct, train, and manage area distributor sales teams to achieve fiscal year sales goals.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans aligned with market trends, consumer needs, and brand objectives.
  • Regularly visit key accounts and collaborate with distributors to drive volume and achieve sales objectives.
  • Participate in local events that align with brand strategies, ensuring visibility and engagement.
  • Monitor market activity, analyze competitive trends, and provide actionable feedback to leadership.
  • Maintain a detailed calendar of activities, promotions, and key account visits.
  • Lead in-store sampling to promote portfolio.
  • Provide bi-weekly market reports and ensure accurate, timely communication with supervisors and distributor teams.
  • Travel as needed to support other markets and opportunities.

Job execution will break into the following components:
  • 60 % time in the Field (on own, with wholesaler reps or UWS managers)
  • 20 % time on Wholesaler interaction (in the market or at the wholesaler)
  • 20 % time on Administrative, pre-planning, and Follow-up.


💡 What We’re Looking For:
  • A four-year college degree and/or equivalent field experience.
  • Proven experience managing sales in the wine and spirits industry or a similar field.
  • Strong leadership, relationship-building, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while driving distributor alignment and field-level execution.
  • Passion for emerging brands, and trends, and delivering exceptional products.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet business demands.

Additional Requirements
  • Current valid driver's license.
  • Overnight travel as required and must be able to meet a minimum requirement travel schedule for assigned territories.
  • No DWI offenses or illegal drug use.
  • Must reside in the state of the job posting.
