As one of the pioneers in the newly ratified American Single Malt category, we are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Commissioned Salesperson to expand our footprint in the high-end spirits market across New York City.
Role Overview
This position is ideal for an entrepreneurial and well-connected sales professional with experience in luxury spirits, fine dining, and high-end retail. The commissioned salesperson will be responsible for driving placements, building relationships with key accounts, and representing The Macklowe brand in one of the world’s most competitive beverage markets.
Responsibilities:
- Business Development & Sales: Identify and secure new on-premise (restaurants, bars, hotels) and off-premise (retail, wine & spirits shops) accounts in NYC.
- Account Management: Cultivate relationships with existing accounts, ensuring repeat business and strategic placements.
- Brand Advocacy: Educate buyers, bartenders, sommeliers, and consumers on The Macklowe's unique value proposition.
- Tastings & Events: Coordinate and execute in-store tastings, brand activations, and VIP experiences to drive awareness and sales.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor competitive trends, pricing, and consumer preferences to provide strategic feedback.
- Collaboration: Work closely with distributors (e.g., RNDC), trade partners, and The Macklowe leadership to optimize sales efforts.
Qualifications:
- Proven track record in wine & spirits sales, luxury goods, or hospitality
- Existing relationships with key on- and off-premise accounts in NYC
- Strong understanding of the high-end whiskey and fine spirits market
- Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work independently on a commission-only basis
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Willingness to host tastings, attend industry events, and network extensively
