Overview

The SAP S4 Technical Lead plays a pivotal role in driving the success of SAP S4/HANA implementations, enhancements, and upgrades. This position involves leading a team of developers and technical consultants to deliver high-quality SAP solutions that align with business objectives. The SAP S4 Technical Lead will collaborate across functional and technical teams to design, configure, and implement SAP systems that support the organization's strategic goals. This role demands an experienced leader capable of providing expert guidance, ensuring seamless system integrations, and ensuring technical excellence throughout the project lifecycle.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design, architecture, and implementation of SAP S4/HANA solutions, ensuring alignment with business processes and technical standards.
  • Partner with senior business stakeholders to translate complex technical requirements into effective SAP solutions.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and deployment guidelines.
  • Oversee the development of custom SAP solutions, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and organizational standards.
  • Provide strategic technical leadership and mentorship to a team of developers and technical consultants, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Conduct code reviews, ensuring compliance with best practices, performance optimization, and scalability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve high-priority technical issues across SAP S4/HANA systems, delivering timely resolutions to minimize business disruption.
  • Collaborate closely with functional teams to ensure smooth and effective integration of SAP solutions with other enterprise systems.
  • Manage end-to-end project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation to ensure successful implementation and adoption of SAP solutions.
  • Stay current with the latest SAP technologies and industry trends, proactively recommending solutions for system optimization and innovation.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance within the SAP environment, applying best practices for system reliability and performance.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive testing strategies to validate SAP solutions' functionality, performance, and user acceptance.
  • Provide ongoing technical support and knowledge transfer to end-users and key stakeholders, enabling successful system adoption and utilization.
  • Contribute to project budgeting, resource planning, and capacity management to meet project goals.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards throughout project delivery.


Additional Primary Responsibilities

  • Continue to move ETP forward by modernizing the org design for efficiency and effectiveness
  • Develop customized, learner-driven training, enhanced by digital technologies such as video, social media, mobile and analytics, online resources
  • Provide insight to inform performance metrics and KPIs for overall ETP and how it supports SGWS as well as measure performance and value drivers for this team
  • Lead the evolution of the ETP career lattice in partnership with HR
  • Partner with the CIO to develop and cascade yearly objectives for the ETP team and support updates to the mission and vision of the department to support overall SGWS objectives
  • Monitor span of control and balance internal/external resources
  • Assist leaders with succession planning and identifying top talent
  • Build organizational talent by creating a learning environment that ensures employees realize their highest potential
  • Act at the industry face for ETP as we focus on being an employer of choice from select universities
  • Build programs through the community that support building a diverse pipeline of STEAM talent including developing creative ways to incorporate into the talent pipeline


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (Graduate Degree Preferred in business, engineering, or technology, or other relevant field)
  • At least 15 years of IT leadership experience in a large scale IT organization or relevant experience as a CIO in a smaller enterprise
  • Experience with direct management of a diverse technology team covering multiple functions within
  • Experience leading or being part of leadership during an IT transformation
  • Knowledge of digital concepts, standard IT governance models, various project delivery methodologies, technology organization design, and establishing key performance measures
  • Passion for diversity, inclusion, and belonging
  • Strong presence in the community representing SGWS
  • Experience successfully leading and delivering enterprise level, multi-million dollar, highly complex programs
  • Travel required up to 50% of time
