Overview

The Customer Development Manager is the Insights and Analytics expert supporting a Top National Customer. The CDM will use their analytical and thought leadership skills to execute category strategies in alignment with customer priorities. This role involves analyzing data, identifying opportunities, and making recommendations that drive category and customer growth.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage data sources to monitor the field execution of vendor programs & assortments.
• Communicating complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels.
• Stay informed of analytic best practices across the industry and provide effective information to deliver sales, margin, and market development goals.
• Analyze and report data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
• Track category performance, including sales, profits, margins, and market share.
• Develop, communicate, execute, and monitor specific performance metrics and goals relevant to each business as part of regular, scheduled business reviews.
• Create and deliver effective reports using POS data, Syndicated Data, and account-specific database information in presentation-ready formats.
• Evaluate and make recommendations on supplier performance to enhance the company's inventory & fill rate objectives.
• Understand and apply customer, consumer, and industry insights using market research data to deliver category growth.
• Ensure superior client satisfaction by providing hands-on deep analytics and contributing to team problem-solving.
• Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and experience within the CPG sector; Adult Beverage preferred; Costco experience a value add.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and quantitative analysis skills.
• Incorporating and interpreting data from multiple unrelated data sources into concise action-oriented recommendations.
• Understanding of National Chain Sales, Retail, and Distributor operations.
• Expertise in category management principles, syndicated data, and shopper/consumer insights (Numerator/Spectra, etc).
• Ability to collaborate with external retail customers, key suppliers, and internal teams to deliver insights and recommendations.
• Assertive leadership and decision-making skills with an aptitude for understanding changing market dynamics and resolving complex problems.
• Preferred experience working with Syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI), Internal Shipment Data, and Household Panel.
• Strong leadership, decision-making capability, and a proven track record of success.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.

• Physical demands with activity or condition may include occasional to rare amount of time include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
• Critical nature of this job may require extended hours, overtime and weekends
• May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 20lbs
